a screenshot of a tumblr post by incalamity: “i mean i know fandom changes over the years and it's literally beating a dead horse saying this but i really do wish fandom emphasized community over "hits" or "likes" yeah yeah commodification of fandom and all of that but no wonder fan artists feel like they're shouting into a void be the only thing the fandom will do with their art is look at it rather than meaningfully engaging in it by reblogging or leaving a comment and not immediately unfollowing after there hasn't been a new post by that artist in a few weeks or a new update by the author in a few months because you're "not getting anything out of them" anymore. like you're really showing your cards thinking fandom creators are endlessly pumping out "content" for you rather than something they put time and passion and effort into”
fandom as a community > fandom as your personal content machine
A pink background decorated with rainbows and dashed lines in the colors of the lesbian pride flag. The text reads, “Lesbian Visibility Week Bundle; 94 sapphic & lesbian books for $40 USD; 4/20 - 4/26; exclusively on Itch.io”
It begins! For #LesbianVisibilityWeek you can get 94(!) works of lesbianful goodness in this amazing Itch bundle for just $40! Magica Riot and Magica Riot: Full Bloom are just two of the things contained within! Books, zines, comics, RPGs, and more! So much sapphic goodness! itch.io/b/3635/lesbi...
oh it’s only a joke 😔🙄🙄🙄
yeah u should give them a treat they worked hard to get my yaoi to you
like why would your degree matter in leaving a critique on a fan work. it’s still rude to do so regardless of your aptitude for criticism lmaoooo
girl help why did i see an ao3 comment saying that they should be trusted bc they were a creative writing major. like ok? go do literary analysis on published literature, not the slice of life yaoi on ao3 with 36 kudos
no social media platform is stable anymore so expect a messenger pigeon about my yaoi in 2 weeks’ time

ok damn my bad i won’t try to access your app again
the people who are hurt by this comment are so funny. i beg you to look inwards as to why this pretty much harmless rebuttal from kubo on being more aware of yourself before actively sending hate (vs simply just not engaging with the media that don’t fit your preferences) hurts you so bad
The most bad-ass rebuttal from Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach.
98% of my wips have been abandoned so i get it lol
eddithan is the freak/creep ship that’s desperately needed
you’re probably a part of the group that people will look back on wonder: “what the hell made them react like that?”
moral outrage. the books i listed sparked outrage but also made people eventually step back and wonder why it got that reaction. literature is often a look and/or critique into the collective mindset of that country/culture and if you keep thinking that some books solely exist to be problematic+
those were used as part of an english lit curriculum: they encouraged analysis, broadened your scope, and honed critical thinking skills. “problematic” topics in media are not inherently bad, not just because they’re fictional but because the creator’s intent is not always just to provoke+
uh oh! your moral panic is adding to the deterioration of literary understanding! do you remember in high school when you read books (most likely now banned) that probably had “problematic” topics, like one flew over the cuckoo’s nest, rebecca, the catcher in the rye, etc.? there’s a reason+
If you believe harassing real people over FICTIONAL CHARACTERS is okay and you either defend this or took part on it please block me.
stray cat is guarding the mailboxes and hissing at everyone who comes nearby girl please stop gatekeeping my weekly ads and bills
They end up at the quarry. Steve is alright with the quarry. It's one of the only places left in Hawkins that wasn't affected by the earthquake or used as a portal to a hell dimension, so it's not so bad of a spot, all things considered. He parks on the dirt alongside the road and quits the engine, immediately letting in the sounds of rushing water. He cracks open the door to get some air in, but it's blazing hot outside, making him break out into a sweat faster. He pulls back in, grimacing at the wave of heat, to ask if Eddie wants to get out and head closer to the water, but he almost knocks into Eddie's forehead. "Jesus, man," he breathes, his heart leaping into his throat at how close Eddie is. He does a quick once-over without really thinking: catching Eddie's eyes and lips. He sees how Eddie is leaning over the middle console, his hands jittery as they try to figure out where to rest. He blinks. "Did you take me out here to make out?" Eddie straightens, the car moving under them with the force he puts into it. "Uh, maybe?" Steve grins. A part of him wants to tease, or maybe suggest Lover's Lake or Skull Rock, but then again, neither of those places leave a great taste in his mouth after everything. Besides, he's made out with plenty of people parked alongside Lover's Lake or up against the stone of Skull Rock, but he's never kissed anyone at the quarry before. "Well?" he prods, raising an eyebrow when Eddie's attention snaps back onto him. "What are you waiting for?"
