I'm driven to distraction by the persistent failure of our regulatory and reportage classes to understand a simple fact: browsers are the most successful alternative app store ever devised.

it was a magical experience to throw in a native crash trace from my phone and find the part of my code triggering the browser bug. or it finding a react bug by throwing in some logging inside a minified production bundle. i think the word “intelligence” is perfectly appropriate here

CSS or BS? Think you know CSS? Real property or made-up nonsense? 20 rounds. No mercy.

Rather than the same old boring internet pranks, I thought I'd build something more fun this April Fools.

CSS or BS. Can you tell your CSS properties names from BS?

damn claude, that's a lot of commits In early January 2026 I was listening to Transistor Radio, the Semi-Analysis podcast, where Doug O’Laughlin was talking about how good Claude Code had become. I follow a lot of analysis sites covering...

Claude Code's growth is incredible. Yes their NPM growth is astounding, but more importantly people are using it to land code.

I did an analysis and found that nearly 5% of commits on Github are by Claude: aifoc.us/damn-claude-...

A greyscale icon. A rectangle with an arrow coming out of the top. Text reads ‘open in browser’

A greyscale icon. A rectangle with an arrow coming out of the top. Text reads ‘open in browser’

Months after being tricked into updating to iOS 26 every time i try to share a link (and I share hundreds a week) I have to go looking for the icon. Why is it a share icon (inside the share sheet you open with a share icon)? Haven’t we just used a globe icon for the web for literally decades now?

Being ultra-wealthy isn’t as fun as you think. Just ask the ultra-wealthy

Rich people have less to worry about, right? Sure, but scratch a little deeper, and you might end up feeling sorry for the private-jet set.

How to write well with AI Why people who pledge never to write with AI are telling on themselves

>If you’re good at writing, AI is hugely liberating. My workflow now consists of a series of very intensive collaborations with Claude. I’ll work up a draft, upload it. Ask it to pick it apart. Consider the feedback, pick apart the good advice from the bad

Wales fans rally as World Cup play-offs commentator Nia Jones faces sexist abuse Ex-international Nia Jones faces abuse after co-commentating on Wales' World Cup play-off semi-final.

She had of course received a whole bunch of sexist abuse by lunchtime. That Nia Jones is having to go through the same thing in the same week is disappointing if not surprising. Lads, we really need you to start calling your mates out
