Didn't the gerrymandered maps get struck down by a court between the 2017 and 2019 elections? If they hadn't Republicans probably woukd have held on to their legislative majorities.

Ok, I think I've figured it out. We build a dam across the Straits of Hormuz, and drain the Persian Gulf. This denies Iran control of the strategic choke point, while pacifying their internal politics with massive territorial growth, and as an added benefit, destroys the economies of the GCC.

Maybe it will be different this November but midterm electorate don't seem particularly left leaning in the Trump era. Republicans had terrific base turnout in both 2018 and 2022 and Democrats had abysmal base turnout in 2022.

I've been wondering that. But the success Virginia GOP is apparently having by comparing that redistricting referendum to Jim Crow makes me suspect it could work. Especially since it might fit well with their current strategy of painting Dems as antisemitic because of their pro-Palestine faction.
