When I did my first ever weeks of night s shifts years ago, I was paranoid that I wouldn't get enough sleep in the day and I had bad sleep. As soon as I decided not to care about it, I slept for 8 hours.

Keep me posted (pun!) on your progress with Resolve. Let me know if you help. I use Resolve to both online and colour grade, sometimes on consecutive days, same show. I feel like it would make everything much simpler for me if it had been used for offline too.

I started a thread about Avid on LinkedIn. Lots of interesting (and opposing) opinions there. I haven't ever used Avid enough to really know for sure but I've always found it difficult.

There aren't really any Avid-specific functions that make it great are there?

I've always found these really uncomfortable! Most likely because I can't work them properly, is there a trick to tilting the seat slightly forward? I never have time to read the manual for the chair when I enter an edit suite!

#postchat I used to never be able to motion track the footage I was working on so I thought it was being dumb or I needed better software. But now I realise it was because I was always given interlace footage!

I like that “multi-class character” ! Rather than "Jack of all trades" which has negative connotations. I've been a jack of all trades for decades and I like it.

I may have to un-follow some people and institutions here on BlueSky, ones I followed because I mostly respect their views. But this is now looking a lot more like twitter and I don't think this type of forum is a healthy place for proper insightful news analysis.

I tried a few app on Mac to try to make a magic mouse work better with Resolve. They might work for you - if I can remember the app ... I gave up with the magic mouse
