God I just wish I could get one more chance. One more interview. One last chance to get my family out of poverty.

I guess I'll spend tonight mourning yet another failed interview in my 16 month long job search by doing some recreational coding. Have to stave off depression with some fun once in a while.
Trying to get a software job when I have little kids and a full-time job feels almost impossible. I had a take home for a full-stack prod-ready app and I couldn't get it done. I lucked out getting work without a take-home in the past but that's no longer a thing.
Craziest recruiter call ever:
"Hi we are looking for a Golang engineer"
"Hi, I've used it to resolve bottlenecks, but our primary language was node.js"
"Okay, bye"
*Hangsup*
No beating around the bush anymore I guess...
So if AI is automating developers, months is now days, shouldn't we have an explosion of tools? I see a lot of innovation for tools to make tools, but not a of tools made from those tool-making tools. Ya know?
"AI sucks! But first a word from our sponsor, AI product!"
Work? Where's work? *Sniffs around like a bloodhound*
I can't smell any ๐
Vibe-coding (vibe-engineering) is like you're an expert ice sculptor carving a swan with 5 deranged ice sculptors with chainsaws who have never seen a swan. You have to describe it based on similar birds but sometimes you just bust out the chisel the old fashioned way.

I have a heap of projects to go over but first I need to see how viable it is to just dump them into multi part threads. Will those work on tumblr? Only one way to find out 2/2
Alright so OpenVibe made crossposting a no-brainer, so I threw my ancient Tumblr account into the mix. Maybe Iโll even crosspost to LinkedIn. I think this is a good a time as any to start posting project status updates again. Only hold up will be the character limits. This will be my litmus test 1/2
You're going to need a CFO to not manage that money. Here's my relevant experience:
As you can see I'm perfect for the role!

I still can't process I've been stuck in level 1 helpdesk again for over a year now and no one will hire me anywhere. When recruiters call for software jobs and I have to act like I'm cool but really I'm crying
I've started deep diving into advanced NestJS, Elixir, C#, general full-stack skills I might be missing. I'm always just short of a job. All my JS/TS and Rust and 7years of enterprise experience seems to be useless to employers. There must be some trick to finding tech work in 2026... I'm exhausted
I was happy to see Meta blow up the VR space for so many years, even if the actual Metaverse was braid dead as hell. I haven't seen that kind of residual latent tech advancement with their AI research exactly, but then I'm kind of yuck about most AI usage so far.
I keep trying to tell myself that just because I haven't been able to find another developer role in over a year doesn't mean my career is over. Probably.
I love the idea of kid's menu being subpar because:
1. The kiddo spit out that one artisnal meal you made and you never quite got over it.
2. Your kid gobbles slop up like wtf
3. Restaurant's know it's kid's cheat night and they can dump ketchup/BBQ/cheese on it and kids'll think it's ๐ฑ๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐
You know how tired I am of LinkedIn engineers telling me coding is dead? Engineering is alive but the AI types and fixes all the code. But why? That's the fun part. Just like art everyone wants to automate the fun part of everything. What's wrong with everyone?
Haven't heard of that engine, I may play around with it. I tried looking into the schroeder reverb and I'm not understanding how you made so many interesting sounds with it. Any tips without spilling secret sauce?
This is straight fire!! These sound amazing what language did you use?
I wouldn't mind giving it a go in GBstudio. Probably don't have the time commitment to learn actual assembly to make it happen raw but that's on my todo list. Just let me know if it's worth the time, free ofc, just went to help an incredible artist if I can
Because telling someone who's wrong they're right has no downsides. Better yet telling someone the wrong thing and doubling down with 0 culpability
LLM canabilism and poisoning are real and they're problems no one has an answer to. The way I see it, it's a future problem not worth worrying about in the eyes of the AI bros. They'll collect their yachts now and run.
That curve seems almost unrelated to LLM release. Makes me wonder if it was already having a natural falloff as questions moved to more specific groups like discord groups and subreddits for specific technologies
I saw this referenced with WGPU before. Great universal graphics API, but just further unique abstraction in the pool of things to know.
Oh my god these are fantastic, I wish I could afford a playdate ๐ตโ๐ซ
#Cloudflare down, RIP helpdesk phone line
The one upside of generative AI is that it made me value human-made art more. Art that didn't really impress me before feels way more meaningful now. Thanks slop, you made me appreciate human creativity more than ever.
