It comes down to this: anyone leading DHS right now has a LOT of work to do to restore the department's legitimacy in the eyes of the public. There's no time for pointless rhetoric designed to provoke outrage.
1. Restore the independence of the DHS Inspector General.
2. Listen to whistleblowers.
3. Reinstate the full training curriculum for ICE officers.
4. Stop searching homes without a judicial warrant.
That's not how you restore integrity and credibility to DHS, Secretary Mullin. We offered a roadmap when you took over the department, and we urge you to use it. Laid out here:
