Landscape format loosely painted in acrylics on canvas. Row of nine 3-storey brightly coloured buildings on left side of square (near to far being tangerine, fawn, pink, brown, turquoise, blue, peach, green, blue and grey) with different coloured shopfronts. Paved area in front of buildings is canary yellow and dotted with decorative trees which a narrow trunk up to a small clump of foliage, black underneath with dots of bright green and yellow at their tops and sides. Road with black surface runs through centre of square from packed car park at top down to bottom where, upside-down to viewer, STOP is written in white on surface at t-junction. Beyond cars at far end of square is beginning of another row of bright buildings (pink, orange, green). Planters, metal bollards, and yellow lines are along edge of road. Roofs are dark blues. Sky is dramatically cloudy and bright, rendered in blotchy yellows, ochres, with tints of greens and oranges. Signed bottom left in yellow on black road surface, Liam Daly

A #painting from a few years ago. "Listowel" is a County Kerry town I've done a few paintings of, but this particular painting came out of a time I was cycling in north Kerry and having the time of my life. Mind you in fairness whenever I'm in north Kerry I have the time of my life. #art #SpeirGhorm

Yesterday was Holodomor Memorial Day. And I wanted to post something about it, but couldn't force myself. From all the events throughout the history when Russia tried to wipe out the whole Ukrainian nation, Holodomor remains for me as one of the most horrific, cruel and inhumane.

Yes I definitely heard of this type of scam. The idea here is the amount is so low so you might not notice it going through your account, and when the item arrives, you won’t go to the hassle of sending it back for a refund.

The problem is far bigger than Jeffrey Epstein | Rebecca Solnit Treating the scandal as an aberration misunderstands the global epidemic of violence against women

"One of the reasons the epidemic of violence against women is so unacknowledged is because cases like these are talked about individually, and often treated as though they are shocking aberrations rather than part of a pervasive pattern that operates at all levels of society."

Hey. Okay. Looking for some help from the #FineArt crowd.

Have this print that’s at least 35 years old and am trying to learn more about it and the artist who I think is named Paul Greene. It’s not signed in the usual place, so I’m not positive that is the artist’s name.

People waiting for aid among dozens reported killed by Israeli forces in Gaza – Middle East crisis live Gaza civil defence said Israeli forces killed at least 30 people on Friday Talks aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza are stalling over the extent of Israeli forces’ withdrawal from the Palestinian territory, Palestinian and Israeli sources familiar with the negotiations in Doha told Reuters and Agence France-Presse (AFP). The sources said the indirect talks over a US proposal for a 60-day ceasefire are expected to continue despite the latest obstacles. Delegations from both sides began discussions in Qatar last Sunday to try to agree on a temporary halt to the 21-month conflict sparked by Hamas’s deadly attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. The negotiations in Doha are facing a setback and complex difficulties due to Israel’s insistence, as of Friday, on presenting a map of withdrawal, which is actually a map of redeployment and repositioning of the Israeli army rather than a genuine withdrawal. Turkey has won. Eighty-six million citizens have won. We know what we are doing. Nobody needs to worry or ask questions. We are doing all this for Turkey, for our future. Continue reading...
