Very boring. I like Tifa a lot, but she's completely uninteresting as a fighting game character. Especially in SF6!! We have plenty of in-your-face rushdown monsters.

Especially in SF6. She would just replicate the low forward drive rush stuff that 90% of the cast are already doing. I'd love to be wrong though!

Yeah I tried to get into the new character in UNIST2, but she throws fish rather than marine mammals, so it wasn't really the same.

Dizzy is incredible, love her. I did try her out, cos I normally prefer playing zoners in every fighting game, but none of the Strive zoners worked for me! Hence going with the totsugeki spam.

Oh I'm trying out Jam at the moment, but I've always played May ๐Ÿฌโš“๏ธ๐Ÿฌโš“๏ธ๐Ÿฌโš“๏ธ๐Ÿฌโš“๏ธ๐Ÿฌโš“๏ธ

Thing with Guilty Gear is that EVERY character is amazing really. Yourself?

That makes sense. I'm not near your level, but I've had big breaks from fighting games at different times over the years. Its hard for me to get away from the internal drive to improve - to just step back and enjoy the games for what they are.

a close up of a cartoon character 's face with three x 's on it Alt: A close up of Paracelsus' face. Paracelsus resembles a giant key, but is actually a sentient, ancient demonic weapon. He is currently owned by ABA (not the Swedish pop band) from Guilty Gear , who has proven resistant to the demonic curse, and is instead insisting that Paracelsus is her husband.

Living under capitalism is terrible, because I'm working right now when I could be just playing Guilty Gear instead.

Museum photo of a cream coloured Japanese women's coat in silk and wool, seen from behind. The coat is to mid-calf, cut fairly straight, with very large full length sleeves in a traditional style. The principle design element is an embroidered (?) peacock, covering the full back of the coat. Its body sits across the upper back, with its tail feathers sweeping down to the hem. Its head and neck extend into the right sleeve, and further tail feathers in the left.

A long time since I've posted anything Japanese. This is a beautiful coat. The detail of the peacock is incredible - more pictures attached in the linked post. Always a fan of these very large sleeve ends too.

I dunno the background to your post, but got me thinking how in other competitive games, its expected that people eventually stop playing and appreciate it in a different way (e.g. football). We tend not to think like that in fighting games, but its hard to maintain a competitive drive for decades.

I work in a dept that answers to a minister, and i gotta say, there is no way this decision was made without ministerial involvement.

That'd be so helpful. Every game should have that!

BTW, I do my best with terminology, but know very little about this stuff. So please feel free to correct me on anything!

Museum photo of a two piece riding habit in dark brown wool.
The skirt is full length, with gentle folds, and there is zero chance of it riding up while riding, such is its length and weight.
The jacket is quite traditional looking. Tight waist, flared hem expanding out over the hips, with buttons down the centre, and a neat small collar. The sleeves are tight fitting to the wrist, with very slight puffing at the shoulders.

This is a nice one. The fabric looks heavy, but both jacket and skirt have an absolutely perfect cut. The curved line of the centre front of the jacket down through the hem is really pleasing to the eye.

Museum photo of a full body bathing suit in black, with white trim.
Fabric is silk, wool and cotton.
The top has loose t-shirt sleeves to the mid bicep. It is cinched in at the waist, loose fitting, with a large floppy Peter Pan style collar. The collar is trimmed with two lines of white embroidery (I think, though it may be a print).
The skirt is roughly A-line, loose fitting, to the knees. It is also trimmed with two bands of white. Black leggings are worn to the ankles.

I love this style! Modern bathing suits are obviously more practical, but there's just something so lovely about these turn of the century ones. Floppy peter pan collars really make everything better.

#Ootd is this 1954 Dior Nuit D'Aout (August Night). @metmuseum notes that this dress is reminiscent of the robe a la polonaise (a 1770-80s dress style where the skirts are looped up to create three sections to reveal the underskirt). Likewise, the silk's pattern is inspired by rococo designs.

Museum photo of a three-piece beachwear outfit in black silk and cotton, consisting of a dress, trousers, and bonnet.
The bonnet has a small trail/capelet to cover the neck and shoulders at the sides and rear. It is edged in white, which accentuates the frilly cut all the way around the face. It is slightly peaked at the front, for more shading from the Sun.
The dress is a simple cut. cinched in at the waist, with full length sleeves, tight cuffs, and an A-line skirt to knee length. The neckline is deep and v-shaped, with a white blouse beneat.
Trousers are gathered just below the knee, and look quite loose.

Beachwear, France, 1900

This is lovely, especially the bonnet. Apparently these were not necessarily meant for swimming in - just for wearing at the beach. Corsetry and stockings may still have been expected for modesty. Fun outfit anyhow.

No lie, learning how to play fighting games taught me how to apply myself to improving at anything. No heroic efforts, just regular, focused practice.

I'm the opposite. Never fully adapted to 6, so play zoning, carefully conserve meter, and therefore only hover around 1400-1500 MR. It's not a game built for zoning unfortunately.

I have been pretty burnt out on #StreetFighter in recent months, but Ingrid looks really interesting. Trailer is the usually nonsense, but she looks like she might be extremely weird and fun.
