Three points describe a pattern.

I have been reminded that people used to read my engineering blog, that people used to reference my open source board designs and OHS content, and now @ieeexplore.ieee.org seems to have followed me.

Ok, fine. I'll resume making engineering content. Cheers!

I remain delighted and heartened by the depth and beauty of human conviction and compassion I'm seeing in the world. People showing up is so needful - we truly rely on these as our primary counterpoint to the banalities of complacency and evil.

In Chicago, I saw folks who are plausibly asylum seekers bussed in from Texas.

A woman and young child, carrying their possessions, essentially begging at store corners and moving frequently to avoid being hassled. A young woman, staring.

Each one of them, somebody.

We saw a dramatic expansion of civil rights, in part, for this reason. If any of us have no rights, eventually none of us have rights. B/C those "rights" will be curtailed the instant you fail to conform. People who were marginalized in WW2, McCarthyism, and the Cold War know that in their bones.

It's oddly beautiful.

It's also a great illustration of why regulation and quality control are critical (and why political deregulation is so concerning). Environmental and safety regulations are written in human blood.

Please don’t stop sharing and posting your science because of the current attack on it, it is still valuable and reminds us what the fight is for

I think that we should be talking about what Trump is trying to do to trans people in the context of the Nuremberg laws.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

+1E6 - nothing good ever happened from people defacto caving to intimidation made in flagrant violation of democratic law. The unbearable asymmetry of bullshit requires that you entertain the notion of this stuff as valid. It's not. If someone's going to pretend BS is law - put all effort on *them.*

I'm not a big fan of our modern dystopia. Things are definitely getting weird.
