#Europe’s prosperity hinges less on shiny sectors than on building on its #skills & potential base.
As Tessarin, @ronboschma.bsky.social, @lideyu.bsky.social & Petralia show in @cjres.bsky.social, #regions thrive when dense, high-skill ecosystems reinforce themselves.

Competitiveness thrives on cohesion, not concentration.
My brand new article in @regionalstudies.bsky.social makes the case for unlocking #Europe’s full potential, wherever it can be found, as #cohesion is the foundation of #competitivenes, not its antithesis.

Her three-volume Women Scientists in America proved their exclusion wasn’t because of individual failures but of systemic barriers into the structure of science itself

BBB blokkeert.
Een mengeling van recalcitrantie, incompetentie en een afzichtelijk gebrek aan verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel - kortom alles wat ons land inmiddels hopeloos op achterstand heeft gezet.

This is very worrying. Making offering a "bowl of soup" to someone without legal papers a criminal offense. In times of far-right political experimentation, Dutch politics can ill afford a parliamentary "slip-up". It’s up to the Senate now to demonstrate its purpose of chambre de reflexion.

A leader of the MN House Democrats is murdered by a Republican pro-life activist. Rather than condemning political murder of his opponents, Elon Musk spreads the conspiracy theory that it was done by Democrats. Journalists don’t need to use any social media site. But they really shouldn’t use X.
