London City Airport has been sold. The Australian giant Macquarie has bought stakes in Bristol, Birmingham and London City airports from the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan for an undisclosed amount.

Luton Airport expansion forced through by UK Government. It rejected the recommendation of the Planning Inquiry to refuse Britain's 4th largest airport permission to double its passenger numbers. A key reason for refusal was extra noise.

ACI EUROPE has released its annual air traffic report for 2024: showing that Europe has for the first time exceeded annual pre-Covid levels in passenger traffic, +1.8% above pre-pandemic (2019) figures.
Public Inquiry rejected Gatwick Airport’s bid for a 2nd runway. Noise one of the reasons. Most relevant to citizens at other airports was the metric used: people can be disturbed when noise averages out at 51 decibels over a 16 hour day
