I realize it is besides the point, but excluding those countries from Asia makes it extremely not useful.

Those countries must be 75% of Asian GDP or more!

I’m in Upstate NY and the four bigger Airports (BUF, ROC, SYR, and ALB) are all 2-hop flights but all have a couple dozen flights a day.

Flights come in/out in bunches: 6 (outbound), 10, 5, and 11 (inbound)

If you miss a flight, you just shift to the next timeslot and go that way.

2000 was a bigger, or at least certainly an alternate big choice.

The election was very much about what to with a federal budget surplus. Gore’s proposal was “Social Security Lockbox” while Bush’s was a tax cut.

The American people chose Bush, or least let it be close enough for Bush to win.

But you are also an Engineer officer, and unlike the rest of the Army, Engineers want wordy everything in them type slides.

I’ve seen this hold true at the battalion, brigade, and Corps of Engineers levels.

Anyone with a castle on their collar who doesn’t want a wordy slide it’s just cosplaying.

WNY is almost as psyched about this as they are for the Bills. I’ve been pleasantly suprised.

Trust me, I know all too well.

I’ve been watching old Price is Right from the 1980s on BUZR when bored on the weekend.

Bob Barker still has brown hair and it is a $1200 range! You can get decent new ones today for less than that.

But we did win in Iraq. Sure, it just took a second, less deadly to American phase (but quite deadly to Iraqis) after ISIS. Dr. Farley described it well here: the cost was clearly not worth it.

OTOH, we totally lost in Afghanistan.

Yes, but Trump’s cabinet would give the permission structure to the Republican Senate.

Or his whole cabinet would be fired, which would be a separate challenge.

“Save Room” by John Legend.

I was staying long-term in a hotel with HBO and got hooked on season 4 of The Wire (2006?).

“Save Room” was used for Promos but I hadn’t the slightest idea how to find it, looking up for people asking online for the song in the promo.

I found out around 2009.

One of these political leaders has been repeatedly portrayed as an untrustworthy radical hostile to others because of his religious beliefs. You’’ll never guess which one!

I grew up in Syracuse, in Rochester now. I’m amazed how much sunnier Rochester is (although not a whole lot less snowy).

In Syracuse, until I was like 7 I thought in the summer the sky was blue and in the winter the sky was gray. I didn’t need to ask any adults because my eyes told me this was true

When TSA was created they piloted a few airports to have private security and its been a zombie vestage of TSA.

My home Airport (ROC) is a contract TSA airport and I have to admit it has worked well, and I find it easier than similarly sized BUF or SYR.

SFO is the biggest airport in this program.

But with ICE, the National Guard, and the Insurrection Act, this may give them something to do and it wouldn't be good.

I feel like I live in the one place where a highway teardown was done right - they restored the street grid and built new housing - Rochester NY.

Funny enough Rochester could have the thing same as Utrecht if we tore out our main urban expressway and rebuilt the Erie Canal.

This is better than most, but like nearly all highway tear downs it leaves a barrier in the City - see Boston’s big dig for another example of a highway teardown that still leads to barrier between neighborhoods.

As a proud Rochesterian I'm going to give you grief.

Avon is an outer suburb, not even an exurb of Rochester, a metro of 1.1 million.

It’s not NYC, but it is part of the “secret” WNY metro (Buf and Roc), a combined 2.3 million in a combined area smaller than the Pittsburgh metro.

Ahh, my Bad, I misread the Battalion as Brigade.

I have run these numbers in a professional setting… and it does not look good. Especially if you plan on maintaining crossings in a forward movement vs drone strikes.

Rafts/Bridge sections are quite fragile.

Yah, a guard or reserve after 90 days of activation is generally as competent as their active duty counterpart. The lived experience that part-time Soldiers have makes up any remaining gaps and then some.

You could move to a fairly large (by American standards) City in Western NY and get told you don't count as a Democrat because you live Upstate.

3 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

You numbers are too optimistic. 7 bays for the latest M1 variants and a requirement for redundancy.

Then, throw in rafting only at night, due to drone threats and it gets crazier.

Also die to drone, float bridges basically aren't a thing than can be maintained so you maintain LOCs with rafts.

Russia’s been trying to cut a deal for 4 years.

But like Russia, he’s looking to get maximum gain without dominance over Iran. The parallels are there. Hopefully they don’t become more apt…

Top Russian general shot in Moscow as talks stall on Ukraine ceasefire Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alekseyev, the deputy head of the GRU, Russia’s main foreign military intelligence agency, was targeted at his home in Moscow, officials said.

Nah, the same language is used today in Ukraine and has has been once it became clear that Russia wasn’t going to win.

I lived this as a USAR Co XO➡️Cdr. We had the problems you describe.

We’d do a urinalysis most months and get 1-2 failures. USAR would keep them due to strength issues.

Then, in late 2011, it stopped. My 1SG and I can to the realization about 6 months later that we hadn’t had to counsel anyone.
