New video shows the man who was killed moments before the shooting.

I’m sorry I can’t host town halls in person this week to hear from you. But I’m hoping you’ll join me online this Thursday to hear about my priorities for the session and share your thoughts. I want your stories and experiences about living and working in New Mexico to inform my work in Santa Fe.

Even though the legislative session doesn’t begin until next week, I’m already in Santa Fe. That’s because the House Appropriations and Finance Committee starts meeting a week early. The work of crafting a budget doesn’t fit into a 30-day session.

New Mexico is the first state in the nation to offer free childcare regardless of income!

Starting Nov 1, families will have access to free childcare saving about $12,000 annually!

I don’t have to tell you why that is becoming more critical to us every day — in every community.

Thank you NM FOG for the recognition. I’ll continue to work toward greater transparency and First Amendment freedoms!

Knowing who influences our elected officials, having access to public documents, and expressing our opinions to shape public life for us and our families: These things are critical in a healthy democracy.

I love representing the Organ Mountains. I see all the plants and animals who live there as part of my constituency. I will do what I can to protect our national monument.

Thanks to all the neighbors who came out today!

I joined more than a hundred Southern New Mexicans in proclaiming our love for our Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National monument this morning.

We will stand up to protect our lands where we hunt, hike, celebrate and pray.

The Trump Administration and House Republicans in Washington are planning to make you give up more money so their rich buddies can get wealthier.

Call your state representatives and senators tell them to stand up for you.

I really appreciate your support. And in case you’re wondering, I took all that swag to a town hall I attended in Chaparral and gave it to people there. I don’t want it. /14

Lobbyists are exerting so much influence over policy debates about critical issues like doctors leaving our state, people being unable to secure affordable housing, and the ongoing challenges we are wrestling with related to our young people and public safety. /12

Frankly, I’m pissed off. It appears to me that the governor’s Chaparral vetoes were at least in part retaliation for my attempt to bring transparency to the work of her lobbying buddies. /11

The governor only used her line-item-veto authority on a handful of local projects. Two were items I worked to get in the budget for people living in the state’s largest colonia, where people desperately need their state government to help build out infrastructure and local governance. /10

I won’t stop fighting for folks in Chaparral and throughout my district. I won’t stop fighting for a more ethical and transparent lawmaking process in our state capitol. But I need your help to do it. /8
