Today, we join Rwandans & international community in honouring the memory of the victims of the Genocide Against the Tutsi as part of #Kwibuka32. Rwanda teaches us that peace and reconciliation are possible—but never given. Keeping the memory alive ensures that “Never Again” is more than a promise.
This morning, the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform convened its International Advisory Council for its annual retreat at Interpeace Headquarters in Geneva.
This institutional partnership reinforces Geneva's role as a global hub for peacebuilding and multilateral diplomacy.

The latest issue of the GCSP's Strategic Security Analysis, written by @interpeace.org Comms Advisor, Arnoldo Gálvez, distills peacebuilding lessons that resonate beyond #Guatemala, offering guidance for other contexts of democratic transitions and fragile democracies.
In 2023, Guatemala faced a political crisis as elites attempted a judicial coup to undermine the presidential election. Indigenous & youth-led mobilisation, backed by civil society & international support, defended democracy—culminating in the inauguration of Bernardo Arévalo on Jan 2024.
@interpeace.org has supported evidence-generation efforts, including the Rwanda Unity Barometer 2025 presented today, to promote fact-based, context-informed policy development that advance national priorities in strengthening national unity & healing.

The Minubumwe - Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement in partnership with @interpeace.org convened a breakfast dialogue with development partners & CSOs in Kigali to exchange on policy priorities & opportunities to further advance healing, national unity, & community resilience in #Rwanda.

120 youth from across the globe gathered in #Brussels for the 2nd #EUYPS conference. @interpeace.org's #PeaceFellows from Burundi, DRC & Uganda called for youth to be at the heart of peace efforts in the Great Lakes region.

The Belém Communique marks a shift toward inclusive, resilient, peace-enabling climate finance.
At High-Level Dialogue, partners moved from vision to execution by:
- Launching first set of pilot countries, including Guinea-Bissau, the Gambia, Iraq and Chad
- Engaging key grassroot leadership for joint climate-peace action
- Exploring new pathways with finance & development actors

The 2nd in-person training of the Youth Peace Mediators’ Mentoring Programme took place in #Addis, hosted at the African Union Headquarters. This gathering marked an important deep dive into the AU’s peace & security architecture & what it means for day-to-day mediation work on the continent.
Interpeace works to de-risk development by embedding political, social and peacebuilding engagement into project design. Renée urged for stronger partnerships b/w peacebuilders & development finance actors, & inclusive decision-making to reduce grievances & build trust.
