Republicans released their planned changes to Medicaid that will raise costs and lead to MILLIONS losing their coverage entirely.
After a Republican rep claimed they aren’t targeting the disabled with their cuts, this woman shouted “You will kill me.”
Security removed her.
At least 26 people have been arrested for protesting Medicaid cuts during the House Energy and Commerce committee’s hearing on Medicaid to mark up the bill.
Reportedly, security had a hard time stopping them from going into the hearing.

Medicaid is NOT a handout. It’s how 4.8M Texans survive.
Republicans want to cut $715B from it while handing out tax cuts to billionaires.
That’s not “fixing” the budget, it’s disrespect for the people who need it most — and voting for that is un-American, plain and simple.
Let’s clear something up: SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — the LARGEST federal program to fight hunger in the country!
It blows my mind that the party that touts its “Christian values” is the same party that is SET on taking food from the hungry.
Texas is home to both the highest rate and number of uninsured folks.
The single most meaningful thing Texas could do to reduce ER costs is expand Medicaid- instead some Texas leaders are trying to scapegoat immigrants on faulty information.
Medicaid is the primary payer for most nursing home stays in America. Cutting it will leave seniors & working families with the impossible choice of going broke or struggling to provide care with no support. That’s the real cost of these so-called savings.

The E&C reconciliation bill slashes Medicaid matching funds, for everyone, in states that provide health coverage to immigrants, even lawfully present ones!
The dark blue states on this map, which use their own state tax dollars to cover children not qualified for Medicaid, will see massive cuts
They are proposing to deny the ACA's premium tax credits to many many types of immigrants. In fact only three types of immigrants could receive it:
-Green card holders
-Certain Cubans
-People in the U.S. under the COFA treaty
All the other immigrants in this resource would be kick off health care
