Tracking NixOS option values and dependencies | oddlama's blog oddlama's personal web page and blog

this is very cool oddlama.org/blog/trackin... i cant wait to test it out and see how it works in practice but seems like a cool way to explore nix options

i meant to get a license but wasnt ever in a place where there was an active community till now. there seems to be a lot of overlap between the two tho so might try again

theres a kinda guide on how to use the ns1/2 as the auth server and you can run it yourself if you feel like reading through the flake for config options. but i am working on documenting it more and finalizing the lexicon

oh so i was kinda on the right path, that looks like a pretty good starting place tho, although the persitence and checking part is kind of confusing, but i do feel like im doing it on a kind of weird purpose

ooh ive been reading through the rfc's but that doesnt sound really interesting it seems like there isnt a great solution besides cloudflares pairing ns or having a txt record or being the registrar

the current verification method isnt great and is kinda brittle >w<

darn dns cache ttl's and making testing hard :/

i also need to add another record for indicating that you want to delegate records for a zone

2 months ago 1 0 0 0

yeah you could set the auth ns to point at a running instance, and working on it now but just another service that is running to make sure that the ns's are pointed at it before being marked as verified and serving records for it

it should be covered unless im missing something? if this goes down i just catch back up from the firehose and any records that are updated/created/deleted will be handled
