2. set the layer to "multiply"
3. create a new blank layer underneath it as the canvas background

Starting this week, we're going on a short holiday intermission. New Nevermore episodes will start up again in January, but in the meantime keep an eye out for a very special, very silly, and very uncanon Christmas party minicomic.
