As co-authors of the leaflet, we give permission for GPs to use it. Resources from the Royal College of General Practitioners are there to support patients in primary care.
If you’re able to share a bit more about what the practice said, we may be able to help support next steps.

This is an important and sobering read about a 1943 American pamphlet warning citizens what fascism in America would look like. Every bit of it is happening now

Thank you for the invitation to speak!
A huge thank you to our speakers in the last session at today's Winter Symposium, @sarahbarleymc.bsky.social, Dr Cliff Shelton, and Dr Helen J Burdett, who have highlighted the disparities between patients and the workforce by recognising the steps towards improvement.
RFK Jr. will eliminate as many vaccines as he can.
Every step he takes at the CDC is in service of this aim, as well as undermining public health infrastructure overall.
He cannot tolerate scientists who know more than he does, so they must go.
Another great piece by @melodyschreiber.com.
Fantastic!! 😷
“We are told by leaders that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”
Incredible speech by Violet Affleck who warned about the ongoing dangers of COVID & Long Covid, & advocated for masks and clean air at the UN today!
Yes! You are SO right. It’s such a horrific, shaming and guilt inducing process on top of being unwell and disabled. Proper Reform is needed - not ‘concessions’ #TakingThePIP
When Ondine asked me to join the Long Covid SOS team, she challenged me to discover new purpose and resilience to live better with Long Covid — and in doing so, she taught me what true advocacy really means. #LongCovidSOS

Ondine did such a huge job to get recognition for all with Long Covid👇

Thank you so much Sarah for an incredibly impacting address to the clinicians attending the Clinical Post Covid-19 Society Conference in Birmingham yesterday!

Good. 👇🏼👇🏾
Thank you 🙏🏼
Somehow, I managed to keep my PIP today…
What a hideous situation to find yourself in - no one chooses to be ill or disabled!

“Ondine was an incredible activist for the Long Covid community and driving force behind our participation in the Inquiry. She is sorely missed.”

“Instead of accepting long-term ill-health and disability, the government could have approached decisions to ease restrictions armed with data on the impact of long-term morbidity.” Jane Ryan. Legal representative for Long Covid Groups at the Covid inquiry.
Today’s #ThereForME blog is from Jane Ryan, legal representative for the Long Covid groups at the UK’s Covid inquiry.
As we mark #LongCovidAwarenessDay, Jane reflects on what we’ve seen so far and what we can expect as the inquiry continues to unfold.

“In 2025, Long Covid is the public health crisis no one wants to talk about, taking a wrecking ball to people’s lives, the economy and the health service while those with power pretend there’s nothing to see here.”

On Tuesday we lost Ondine, the co-founder and CEO of the charity I volunteer for, @longcovidsos.bsky.social
Ondine was a force for GOOD. She was clever, articulate and respected. And she was my friend. ❤️🩹
My heart goes out to her family and friends ❤️
I am a better person because I knew Ondine. ❤️🩹
What you said. Covid amnesia seems to be the next pandemic 😞
(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

An upside-down American flag hangs from El Capitan near Yosemite National Park’s Horsetail Fall on Saturday to protest the thousands of federal job cuts made by President Donald Trump’s administration. Tracy Barbutes/Special to the Chronicle
Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

Research suggests that Covid-19 can increase the risk of heart and circulatory conditions, like heart attack and stroke, after infection. A study published in the journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology. in October 2024 used data from over 11,000 people, with and without existing heart or circulatory conditions, who tested positively for Covid-19 between February and December 2020. This was before the Covid-19 vaccine was available in the UK. Compared to nearly 220,000 uninfected people, those infected with Covid-19 were more than twice as likely to have had a heart attack or stroke or died from any cause by October 2022. For people who were hospitalised with Covid-19, the risk of these events was 4 times higher than for those who did not test positive for the virus.
And research shows #LongCovid can double the risk of a heart attack

This news report only highlights how the economic burden of #LongCovid will continue to grow as clinics are closed and key symptoms are ignored or written off as health anxiety.
We call on the govt & NHS to recognise and treat #pwLC appropriately

We were shocked by this Sky News report suggesting with little more than anecdotes that increased presentations at A&E by young people with chest pain is due to health anxiety when chest pain & palpitations are common #LongCovid symptoms
A textured grey concrete wall with a red heart painted on it. The heart has the words “LONG COVID CAN BREAK YOUR HEART” written in capital letters. A deep crack runs through the heart, symbolizing damage. Below, a torn piece of paper appears taped to the wall, displaying a poem in typewriter-style font: “Roses are red, violets are blue. Long Covid can break your heart, we’d be lost without you.” In the bottom right corner, the “Long COVID SOS” logo is visible.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Long Covid can break your heart,
We’d be lost without you
Happy Valentine’s Day to our incredible #LongCovid community!
