We love good news! A slate of anti-abortion bills that were in front of the Maine Legislature this session have been defeated. Abortions are normal, common care accessed by many people for a variety of reasons. Any attempt to restrict access is an attack on all of our autonomy.

Trans people, both binary and nonbinary alike, deserve a world that recognizes and honors them for who they know themselves to be. Trans people deserve visibility, safety, joy, and so much more.
March 31st is recognized as Transgender Day of Visibility. Prior to its creation, the only other day dedicated to recognizing and honoring trans folks was Transgender Day of Remembrance, a solemn day focused on mourning those who have been taken from us by anti-trans violence. (Cont)

Transgender people deserve autonomy, joy, and love.
We've seen attacks on trans folks both on a national level and from state legislators; Maine law stands firm on legal protections for trans people. It is the responsibility of all of us to stand for the rights and dignity of trans folks and not fall for transphobic rhetoric designed to divide us.
Transgender people are a part of our community; they are our neighbors, our cashiers, our teachers, our friends, and more.
Mabel's will continue providing this essential care and fighting for the rights of trans folks.

Trans youth deserve the world, and it's on all of us to fight for them.
We're glad that Maine law aligns with what is right--in Maine, the right for trans youth to play sports is protected by the law. It is unfortunate that not all of our lawmakers seem to be on the same page, but that doesn't change what Maine law says or the inherent humanity of trans folks.
