No surprise. The continued prioritizing in the US of commercialism over the social, educational, well-being, and fun aspects of youth soccer.
A study of youth soccer in NYC and North Jersey found:
⚽ Social importance pushed aside in favor of focus on rare college/pro places
⚽ Cost the primary barrier
⚽ A desire to play not matched by accessible areas to play
⚽ Overtraining young players reflects commercialization and competitive pressures

This just seems unprofessional and pompous from his management team. Making Lando Norris look worse when their job is, presumably, to make him look better.
I interviewed Lando Norris and the world champion was open, honest and articulate. And then his management stepped in to police and muzzle him in an attempt to "control the narrative."
