you tiao (a puffy fried Taiwanese crueller) and a bowl of soy milk
this is, admittedly, a bastardization of a popular Taiwanese breakfast meal, you tiao + soy milk, which comes in both a savory version and one with a distressing quantity of sugar dissolved in the milk.
put it in a bowl. heat it up till it's steamy. dunk glazed donuts into it using chopsticks. pinch of salt amplifies the sweetness.
i put unpeeled garlic cloves in the microwave until they pop — five to ten seconds.
