Much as I do kind of agree he’ll end up there, I don’t get why he’d reject them and sign a new deal with us last May if it’s what he wanted to do?

To be fair, this may be correct. Broadcasters may have a chance to veto a brand, however it would be blocked at feed level rather than channel level. They never do though which is why I’m not sure - anything not conflicting with clubs gets through in my experience

There is a third party seller (not the club, not Mediapro) who sells the LED. The broadcaster has no say at all in what is shown, they don’t sell the LED, they don’t block the LED, they receive a feed. ITV don’t even have sole rights to La Liga, they share the feed with Premier Sports.

But I’ll tell you instead - Mediapro split the feeds however they see fit. Currently, there’s no UK only feed, it is Europe. It has in the past been UK only but not currently.

To be fair, we can't simultaneously buy players good enough to improve us immediately (Wharton) and their replacement. We'd have though Wharton would replace Doucoure (linked with Liverpool before injuries), Riad would replace Guehi etc. Hendo before Johnstone etc, Franca and Olise. Not all on DF.

That red card and subsequently getting a few games out of the spotlight while everybody else rediscovered form has allowed him to find his feet with a bit less pressure. He started poor but was really solid today, as he was the last few games.

Yep - 100%. Physically think he is still a bit off, but he’s getting much quicker at releasing the ball than he was early on. I’d be fairly comfortable with him alongside Wharton.
