Circling back on some old albums that I listened to tons when I first got them but haven’t heard in a while. I wrote about Mike Uva’s ‘Lady Tell Me Straight’ back in 2017 (!) but I’d been enjoying it for 5 years by then. Anyway, it’s a lovely record, have a listen.

It was him I was trying to remember if I’d been his plugger 😆
Saw him solo Upstairs At The Garage or LA2 or somewhere in ‘97 or ‘98, & there are other gig dates of his in my diaries but I don’t really remember working the album, maybe we were pitching for it, dunno, too long ago!

My first copy, not sure I’ve ever heard the whole album, although I remember in the collections of various friends when I was living in halls at college in ‘91 / ‘92, so I’ve definitely heard some of it!

The open inlay card from U2’s ‘Achtung Baby’ cassette laid out in all its 11 panel glory on a wooden surface below the black cassette itself. 8 more tapes are visible, stood on end, spines facing the camera, including albums by: Placebo, David Gray, James, The Waterboys, The Soup Dragons, The Beautiful South, The Carpenters, and Ultravox.

Interesting chazza haul from earlier in the week for #cassunday, think I plugged a couple of them back in the day. (Definitely did Beautiful South)

Amazing! I’ve definitely got some tapes that my sister & I sent off for with coupons from a cereal box in the ‘80s - can’t remember where they are atm, but will dig them out! Also reminded me of this ‘90s Weetabix x TOTP beauty I found last summer.
(Bought just to play ‘Confide In Me’ on repeat 😄)

Hang on to it - I fixed the central heating with one of those once. Tiny screwdrivers have epic powers!
