Well that's worrying

Meta have reportedly removed Pride and LGBTQ+ themes from Facebook Messenger just days after changes to hate speech rules which will allow users to call queer people “mentally ill”.

(So yeah, need to move some family to a new messaging app. Telegrams out for being "too difficult". Suggestions?)

I'm finding myself so easily caught up in negativity and rage posts.

Time to take a deep breath and try to focus on the positives. Giving people nice big squishy hugs.

See it's like that but they made the monster so irritating that we can't stop looking at it.

Random musing of the day:

What would be different about the world if the standard weekend was instead Wednesday and Sunday?

I feel like generally it would be worse but that we might have high speed rail to get more done in a single day.

Not sure, I'm gonna think about this some more.

My Christmas dresses simultaneously are not warm enough and cover up too much to feel gorgeous.

This is the worst possible outcome.

Wes Streeting announces indefinite ban on puberty blockers for trans youth Puberty blockers for under 18s with gender dysphoria will be banned indefinitely due to an “unacceptable safety risk” the UK government said.

If the NHS can help cis teens whose puberty is affecting them in negative ways then surely they can help trans teens in the same situation!

How does this make me feel? Angry. Angry and so damn scared. Why is targeting children somehow seen as acceptable?

I'm being pedantic here but that would be multiplicative rather than exponential.

Three panel comic with crudely drawn stick people.

Panel 1: A grayscale person wearing a shirt with a flag composed of green, red, blue and black stripes is talking to a green person.

Shirt: "Hey so after the election I've done some thinking, and I need to make some hard choices."

Green: "Uh okay who-"

Shirt: "I have to drop the whole chromatic issue. We just went too hard on it and it lost us votes."

Panel 2: The shirt person puts their hand on green's shoulder.

Shirt: "Look. I'm deeply and truly sorry okay."

Green: "Please don't touch-"

Shirt: "You just have to understand. Supporting you this much. Saying green people are green? It was just too extreme. I will still affirm that your feelings about being green are valid. But I have to think about electoral strategy too. I have to take a clear stance that nobody wants children to be green."

Panel 3: The shirt person starts sobbing while Green looks awkwardly.

Shirt: "Please... *sniff* please understand... This is so incredibly difficult for me, the emotional toll on me is worse than you could ever imagine! I just can't keep doing this! It's too politically inconvenient!"

Green: "Who are you, even? Were you doing anything for us?"

I played an ironman save with a friend. We spent 55 mins creating characters and he pushed me off a ledge to my death!

My friends say I give off Glinda vibes!

(Is this a sign I need to work on myself or do I double down on this?)

So many parallels with the politics today which was interesting.

Conversations with the 8yo DM:

8yo DM: Your new character is Durv Lundfeld. He is an older dwarven fighter who is immune to thieves.

Me: How is he immune to thieves?

8yo DM: He doesn’t own anything.
