there is a point to be made about media "illiteracy"(as it were) being top-down instilled in people

like, so many people have been persuaded that if something is entertainment, it can't possibly offer anything more; and so many people have internalized it instead of question it :(

I think blanket blocking a large constituent of your user base is probably not good for the future of your service… 🤔

My brother and I have this saying we came up with after years of watching English premiere league soccer

I’m a cartoonist, I’m gonna post/boost more about cartoons and art, the things I like and give me joy

I want to be politically literate and civically engaged, but that’s not my core personality or, rather, it’s not what I want my brand (as it were) to be

I think, part of the problem is that there are a number of people who followed me because of some politics post and expect more of them, and in turn ignore everything else

That’s on me. That’s my fault

I’m sure a not insignificant number of my follows expect politics, just because of the nature of this site

I’m going to make an effort to stop with the politics posts… I don’t get any joy out of them

My political posts/boosts/replies get more traction on this website than my other posts

The user base here is just more primed to seek out political content

It bums me out

I know it’s partly my own fault. But it still stings a little
