This gives a better look at the bases.

Yes! The 20x40mm bases that come with the model have holes for 3x1mm (I think) magnets. The individual models are just glued to the stands though.

#paintslam25 Flocked my speardwarves with AP Battlefield Grass Green. Can’t varnish them until this cold snap passes, so these are done for now.

Started basing my speardwarves. I painted the rim with AP Playmarker Dark Green, put AP Brown Battleground in the trench of the recessed base.

Super productive yesterday. I got all the details finished on all 18 stands of speardwarves and got them mounted on stands. All they need now is to finish the bases. Im especially happy with how the green stuff drum I sculpted for one of the command stands turned out once painted.

Eighteen bases, ready to be primed

Eighteen bases, ready to be primed

All eighteen stands of speardwarves

All eighteen stands of speardwarves

Varnished my swordsdwarves, glamour shots sometime later. I made a lot of bases to get ready for a big push on my speardwarves over the four day weekend.

Lot of little stuff today, did the inks on my test 10mm skeleton. Getting ready to start finishing my dwarven spearmen, preparing stands and trying (operant word) to sculpt some drums for the command group.

They’d probably be a lot easier to use on 28mm minis, but they work surprisingly well on the 10mm scale.

The felt tips wear down fast, on the order of more than once an army for the markers I’m using a lot of. I’m a heavy touch so ymmv. The tips are replaceable at least.

Thanks! I actually did them mostly with the Army Painter markers! There are a bunch of mistakes that are hidden by the mass effect, but “Quantity has a quality of its own”!

When we build a new east wing, it should be a brutalist slab with gravity defying cantilevered masses to make all the Retvrn freaks soil their togas.

I applaud our nation’s legislators for setting aside partisan squabbling to resolve the bread and butter issues that matter for working Americans.

It makes more sense in the context that it was originally designed to be run as a tournament game at the first Origins, not for ordinary table play.

Only the sweatiest grogs would hold it up as a good example of old timey design.

I’ve been working my way through my spear dwarves. I now have 10 of 12 stands complete through the wash stage.

Put down speedpaints on three stands of dwarven spearmen. @thearmypainter.bsky.social ‘s markers really do the trick, looking forward to the range expanding a little.

Was out of the house most of today, so this one’s phoned in a bit. I clipped and sanded some bases for my #warmaster dwarves.

Ari Aster’s pivot from horror to weird tragicomedies is puzzling and a little disappointing, but I’m glad he’s staying true to his major artistic principle of frankly depicting graphic head trauma.

I got the speedpaint markers from @thearmypainter.bsky.social and painted a few stands of Dwarven Spearmen with them. A little difficult to control at the small scale, but they work better than I expected, and are super easy to use.

Did the last two colors. The skin is AK Quickgen Dwarf Flesh, appropriately enough. The red accents are AK Quickgen Reddish Orange. I just need to find a warm metal I like for the remaining metallic accents and do a wash and a couple highlights.
