This of course explains much about the minimisation and normalisation of covid harms:

So I’m very active there and I do have a number of friends who are active there as well. And for some, I might need some extra privacy or I’m talking about something sensitive that only a few people may be involved in, and I wish all of these other networks had that same degree of user choice.

I can even alter the privacy settings on individual posts. I can further edit the privacy settings on a single post type in names to include or exclude particular people from seeing a specific post. All of these other networks do not have that depth of privacy.

Many have abandoned it in my case, but one of the reasons I’m still there is Facebook has the most robust privacy settings of any social media platform. I’ve been using lists there for a very long time. I can set everything to friends only by default.

You can use the Friends feed. That’s all it shows you.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

Thank you to all the amazing people who've reached out. I'm eager to share your stories and show that SNAP is, at it's core, about the human right to food.

I'm looking to speak to people who rely on SNAP about what this past week has been like. If that's you, please reach out, or pass along to others. Can be anonymous.

It sucks the way the humanities are being eroded & labeled unimportant. For every rant against a “new identity,” there is an ancient poem or painting or song or or or that tells us there is nothing new under the sun

They look like if you hired a comic book artist and told them to draw a bunch of henchman, you’d probably come very close to these people.

SCOOP — Part of the reason Disney/ABC may have rushed to sort things out with Kimmel is because tomorrow they have a planned price increase for Disney+ streaming, a Disney source tells me. With subscriptions hemorrhaging since last week, they couldn’t risk losing more users with this announcement.

6 months ago 8941 2701 350 730

My concern is in the conversation about topics and content, but I do firmly believe that Jimmy Kimmel was fighting for his staff and all of the crew jobs as well, so there may be concessions, but hopefully they’re not too steep, considering all of the outpouring of support from major sources.

Worse too, with today’s posturing and recently announced Medicare AI prior authorizations pilot coming to six states, and one of the requests they will be reviewing is about pain control. The companies providing the technology will get a cut of any money saved by their programs rejecting coverage. 🫠

It’s honestly pretty heartbreaking to hear a parade of health care professionals plead with the ACIP not to make their jobs harder

Pfizer says it couldn't have warned about tumor risk in Depo-Provera lawsuits Pfizer has urged a Florida federal judge to dismiss lawsuits claiming its birth control shot Depo-Provera can cause users to develop a type of brain tumor, saying regulators barred the company from including a warning about the tumors on the drug’s label.

Uhhhh if you know someone on Depo Provera shots, tell them there's a lawsuit for brain and spinal tumors. What the fuck.

A good amount of creation is also good advice. Curated feeds or follows, especially. And I know I have definitely been closing tabs a lot more, even after deciding to write a response sometimes I just close that tab and move on.

I found a method that seems to be the most effective and I’m about three steps in, so fingers crossed. 🤞 because even this requires a good dose of RNG luck.

Obviously, I needed a little break but now it’s been fun being back .

I recently returned to my Animal Crossing island. I missed it, and there are still some unfinished things I would like to do. Collections, fruit, to stop the flowers from overtaking my entire island. 🏝️

I still need:
-Cherries 🍒
-Peaches 🍑
- Pears 🍐

Also back on my quest to grow blue roses.

To describe the current state of the world as a daily show of deepening horrors is a massive understatement.

However, I read something today that I think more people should see and read.

I hope she doesn't mind my me sharing it here.

Shocking for people who haven't been paying attention to disability as a main target of this administration, I suppose, but evil either way.
