South Korea, World’s Largest ‘Baby Exporter,’ Admits to Adoption Fraud A South Korean truth commission called for the country to apologize to those who were sent abroad “like luggage” so that adoption agencies could profit.

“This is a moment we have fought to achieve: the commission’s decision acknowledges what we adoptees have known for so long — that the deceit, fraud, and issues within the Korean adoption process cannot remain hidden.”

Associated Press/Gulf of Mexico kerfuffle made think of what I wrote back in 2019: "If the journalists themselves are afraid of doing their jobs, how is the public being served? If the journalists do not speak up, then who will?" #journalism

Blockade, panic, invasion: Taiwan TV drama imagines war with China A Chinese war plane goes missing near Taiwan. China sends swarms of military boats and planes for a blockade as Taiwan goes on a war footing. Chaos ensues on the streets of Taipei. This is the premise of a new Taiwan drama envisioning a Chinese attack that is sounding alarm for the Taiwanese, who face a heightened Chinese military presence near the democratically-governed island that Beijing claims as its own. Really enjoyed editing this story - Kim Seung-hwan, who is himself a paraplegic and part of the KAIST team, demonstrated the prototype which helped him walk at a speed of 3.2 kph (2 mph), climb a flight of stairs and take sideways steps to slide into a bench.

Welcome to ... Wroxham? Meet the tiny club often confused with the Welsh sensation Wroxham is a tiny team in England's lower leagues often confused for the celebrity-backed Welsh sensation. They're using the links to raise awareness for a great, community-driven club.

Aside from the difference of one vowel -- there are posters in Wroxham about "A team only one vowel away from the big time" -- Wrexham and Wroxham could not be further apart, beyond the 250 miles that separate the Welsh city and the East Anglian village, population 1,502.
