Title: Both Liberal and Conservative Judges Rule Against Trump
Description: A scatter plot showing the rulings of judges against or in favor of Trump, categorized by ideology using the DIME score. The x-axis represents Judge Ideology (DIME Score), ranging from liberal (-1) to conservative (1), and the y-axis represents the case outcome (against or for Trump).
• Blue dots represent liberal judges, purple dots represent moderate judges, and red dots represent conservative judges.
• Some judges are labeled, including Rudolph Contreras, Lauren King, John Coughenour, and James Emanuel Boasberg on the liberal to moderate side, and Carl Nichols, Richard J. Leon, and Joseph N. Laplante on the conservative side.
• A note mentions that Boasberg, though slightly right-leaning, was initially appointed by George W. Bush.
• The visualization suggests that judges from both ideological backgrounds ruled against Trump.
1/🧵 Judges across ideological lines are ruling against Trump at strikingly similar rates (84% liberal, 86% centrist, 82% conservative). This isn't partisan opposition to Trump—it's the judiciary functioning as intended by cutting across partisan lines to uphold the Constitution.

Email sent to FDA staff informs that agency leadership canceled the agency's LexisNexis subscription, even though staff need this tool to research legal and regulatory information as part of their jobs.

How much is the "we'll maybe send everybody $5K because of the money we're saving by destroying the US gov't" talking point keeping people who might otherwise be quite upset w/ the way things are quiescent? ("Give away the rights of females for the price of eggs decreasing" worked well last Nov...)

I realize diplomacy is about power, & fairness isn't really involved, but it's sad to see the US administration think they can get 1/2 of Ukraine's rare minerals for nothing, not to mention the head of the administration thinking Zelenskyy is dumb enough to fall for it. www.msn.com/en-us/news/w...

The ‘evidence is in’: Trump is an agent of Putin
YouTube video by The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age
Audio only - a great 20 min morning news interview in Australia. The main speaker does not go so far as to claim agency established decades ago, but points to the simple facts and behaviors and can only conclude that the role exists now & probably has for some years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVJE...

I adore Alt National Park Service, and their "Resist" bear stickers are great - high quality and decent-sized (we ordered some).

Well, duh. Well-established fact they were working with the Biden administration for several years to reduce the volumes and it was clearly working. Whether that’s still ongoing, I have no idea.

Hoping you all have seen Mark Cuban's suggestion that you form a consulting company and charge the gov't a fortune when they inevitably come begging you all to fix things. He said he'd help fund this if you all want to pursue it.

Not only is this a "duh" (multiple folks, incl StoneKettle Station, noted it in the past weeks), but our new director of national intelligence (at best a known Ru sympathizer) is stating that calling out this obvious risk is essentially grounds for firing. <shakes head> www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...

WOW: British leader delivers PUBLIC REBUKE to Trump
YouTube video by Brian Tyler Cohen
Particularly notable when one remembers that the British "character" is overall not known for warmth or effusiveness. I am really glad they gave him such a warm welcome. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgj8...

I find most recipes that call for cinnamon can add a bit of cardamom. Certainly anything that is pumpkin spicy could have a little bit added. A number of Indian & central Asian dishes use small amounts, & numerous Scandinavian breads & cookies call for it. It’s also great on sweet potatoes.

Thank you for posting this. AI is great for finding cancer; going through billions of chemicals identifying those w/likely medical use; tracking work items so you don’t miss things that might fall through the cracks. Latter requires control of one’s own instance of AI to be safe, but that exists.

Me: wow I'm writing good stuff in this novel tonight, I think I'll just keep on trucking
My brain: dude it's 11pm and we're old, wrap it up
Me: come on I used to do all nighters all the time
Brain: you used to do handsprings too, until that last time
Knees: yeah fuck you for that, by the way

I'm hopeful that not only retail workers, baristas and similar may be able to afford to live much closer to work, but that artists will be able to afford lofts and studios in the centers, too. The 'donut effect' in major US cities. phys.org/news/2024-12...
