I'm a card-carrying member of the Australian Skeptics. Motto: Seek the Evidence.
Skeptics know that vaccines work, that the Earth is an oblate spheroid, that anthropogenic climate change is real, and other stuff that's supported by evidence.
RFK Jr is not a skeptic.

I'm re-reading Small Gods at the moment. STP's genius shines through in this witty, insightful look at the nonsense that is gods.
Just when you thought Trump couldn't sink any lower, he's blamed the Washington DC aircraft collision on Biden's DEI policy.
How about the working class?????
These women didn’t sit down, stay quiet, or ask for permission—they broke the rules and changed the world. Role models.
We should add Bishop Mariann Budde to the list.
This is a game changer. I'm no fan of AI, though it has its uses. But once it's open sourced, giving access to millions of potential contributors to the codebase, it could be game over for the rest. Time will tell. :-)

But that's the thing - they're *all* "true christians".
Only 2/3? He's slacking off!
The No True Scotsman fallacy is getting a workout in the US. The US version goes:
Person A: "No Christian wants [Trump policy]."
Person B: "But my uncle Angus is a Christian, and he wants [Trump policy]."
Person A: "But no true Christian wants [Trump policy]."

See the No True Scotsman fallacy.
Both sides: "Those christians don't agree with me. They're not *real* christians."
WTF?? There's a pro-Trump police union? :O Mind boggled!
Wow! Powerful!
A birthday present from my sister and brother-in-law. Absolutely fascinating!
Aussie here. I have to disagree. Social security is welfare, as it *should* be. I should be available whether you're earned it or not - it's a fundamental component of a just society.
No more or less than Trump's election does.
Excellent analysis of Musk's gesture.

As these folks will tell you, there's nothing so profitable as owning your own government.
Given that the supreme court has refused to implement the 14th, the constitution is no longer worth the vellum it's printed on.
Given that the US has declined to implement the 14th amendment, their constitution clearly isn't worth the vellum it's printed on.
Jonathon Pie nails it again. The right didn't win - the left lost.

Accidentally?
Given the blatant refusal to impose the 14th amendment, the US constitution demonstrably isn't worth the vellum it's printed on.
"When America sneezes." they say, "the world catches cold." Well, America's just caught a dose of amoebic dysentery. We can only hope that Australia's small enough, far away enough, and insignificant enough to be out of the firing line.
I was just thinking...
Mr Trump's very keen on buying other counties. Australia's population is around 26M give or take. I reckon that if he offered us, say, US$2B each, we'd probably take it. :-)
The constitution has already been overthrown, otherwise Trump would be disqualified under the 14th amendment.
The US is in deep shit. :-(
Very well put together.
What do you think? Will the next four years make the US great again, or hasten the slide?
