"Try a Little Kindness" is my favorite Campbell song. I'm such a sucker for songs from the late 60s-early 70s that feature some sort of orchestral arrangement. I also really dig his version of Dylan's If Not For You.

There are better Glen Campbell songs but I would say that Rhinestone Cowboy is a guilty pleasure.
I'm surprised that Bird and a few other Eastwood films haven't at least found their way to a Blu-ray release from the Warner Archives.
And the exact same month as Barnes & Noble's Criterion sale!
Peter Stormare at the Fargo Theatre last night for a 30th anniversary screening of Fargo.
Thanks to the weather, I won't be able to drive down to the Twin Cities for the holiday weekend. Which means that I won't be able to see Thief in 35mm tomorrow night. Guess I'll try again at the end of the month and see what happens when I try to see North by Northwest in 70mm.
I can't remember why I brought it up (a conversation about JOHN Mahoney?) but I showed my brother this last weekend. Apparently he had never seen or heard about it.
This is going to cause me to cave in and finally buy the Kino Blu-ray during their current spring sale, isn't it?
Ironic or coincidental that I finally bought tickets this morning to see this next Saturday in 35mm?
This post is only for @vitaphonezone.bsky.social . You'll be happy to know that I finally got around to watching Stingaree this morning. I really dug this one.
I did get one co-worker upset because I said that I've been going back and forth on chosing One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent or Marty Supreme as my favorite 2025 movie without mentioning Sinners, which I do love.
Another year, another post-party celebration for the film festival I'm involved with in which one particular person called me a film bro. This time, it was because of me mentioning how I thought that Timothée Chalamet was fantastic in Marty Supreme.
An L for Kael here.
That second photo belongs in a museum.
Let's gooooooo!!!!
I'm kind of leaning towards bumping up One Battle After Another into my top five after re-watching it yesterday morning.
So as it stands:
There Will Be Blood
The Master
Phantom Thread
Boogie Nights
either Punch-Drunk Love or One Battle After Another
We now live in a world where PTA is a three time Oscar winner!!!
Crappy week on account of the job became worse. I had to take my dog to the emergency vet this morning.
Warner Brothers is releasing it on Blu-ray through the Warner Archive Collection.
Same!
Taking care of it before I go on my daily run.
I've had an itch to rewatch it recently.
I've been trying to find an excuse to rewatch Safe in Hell recently. Going through the Mervyn LeRoy series on Criterion Channel might have sparked that. But now this post is a perfect reason to watch it today.
Now that I finally watched THE SECRET AGENT, I can finally listen to this on repeat.

Going to see it tomorrow afternoon.
First time watch of a late period Friedkin banger.
First time watch of a dull and pretty icky Hammer Film.
First time watch of the '39 adaptation Wuthering Heights.
Rewatch of Little Caesar. Good but it's still no Public Enemy.
No, I can't imagine why I stopped eating McDonald's years ago.
The Basil Poledouris score is an all timer. I'm kicking myself for not buying the soundtrack on vinyl when it was at one of the local record shops not too long ago.
I currently have three of my photographs on display in an exhibition in Kansas that were all damaged when they were enroute due to the poor packaging job done by UPS. Not only did the gallery's manager fix the damaged frames but my work was named Honorable Mention for the exhibition.
I wish the person who uploaded this video had included the nonsense Warner Brothers logo that was used at the time.
