You're right! Nightmares are dreams as well, and she could step into one or make a dream a nightmare! She has some ways to escape them or wake the dreamer if so!

There are people who specialize in 'Nightmare Magic and she has to be able to stay away from them or trick them in the dream to get out.✨️

True, but some can control their own dreams via lucid dreaming! I imagine Vissica can step into dreams via a similar method or while she is awake as one who studies/shapes them.

Certainly any dream she steps into (even her own) could change her, but her magic keeps her in some control.✨

I'm glad you think so! Having some sort of point of visual consistency in the various types of dreams available can help the character be more recognizable to the reader.

If the symbols/eyes change or are different in any dream it can be a hint to an imposter or something wrong via Dust Veil.
