Agree. Knowledge of the field is key. I’m a much better teacher for engaging in the scholarship but obviously I can’t be a scholar of all aspects. I can, however, be a *consumer* of the scholarship in the topics I teach.

In the field of legal writing, yes I’ll maintain that knowing the disciplinary scholarship is necessary for deep understanding of the field. That is, for those of us who want to teach our students the what/why of effective communicating client-centered legal analysis.

Hi David. At the law school where you currently serve the people hired to teach legal writing are tenure track and very much are required to produce scholarship. So are the profs on the NTT lines. Sarah has the right of it.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

If a judge is extremely justifiably verbally eviscerating me in open court, I’m not interrupting to explain oh hey point of order but only 14 of my cases were hallucinations not 15, your honor.
Take that beating and genuflect in pathetic humble apology and beg that your license isn’t ripped.
Loving this.
Reporter: You received a letter from AG Pam Bondi making several demands….
Walz: I would just give a pro tip to the AG. There's 2 million documents in the Epstein files we're still waiting on. Go ahead and work on those
I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.
Expletive expletive expletive.
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.
Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.
Now this is what a newspaper front page should cover.
tbf, this is because the plan is literally the dumbest and most counterproductive bit of idiocy the United States has ever contemplated
(I'm not saying the worst thing; the dumbest)

Anthony, gently, I’d like to remind that “clinical” and “tenure track” are not exclusionary categories. I’m a tenured professor teaching in a clinic. I do see your point but I believe there’s room for nuance.
Hot take.

Yup me too. I’m not even GSE. Just related to a recent grad.
I have this too. My Gmail registers it sent to me by Penn (or someone purporting to be Penn) but also by several individuals.
