Note: she ate the sandwich. Now she is distracted by the smell.
Shout out to the student in my first period class who keeps trying to go home because she says she "is distracted by the smell of a sandwich"
Creative!!
I mean, the jokes write themselves here (men, women's sports etc etc)
#OtD 22 Apr 1944 200 Black people, mostly @HowardU students, held a sit-in at a segregated restaurant in Washington DC. The disruption forced HQ to order the branch to start serving Black customers. A key organiser was LGBT+ Pauli Murray (pictured) stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9444...

Today was a very bad day.
Tomorrow, I'll start over. Life! She's a trip!
Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration.
He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions).
Apple donated to Trump’s White House ballroom.
And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ.
Remember this.

Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
Hell yeah, Spurs fans, color coordinated in 80's colors. This is the type of whimsy I can really get behind.
I would love it if those of you who do not have library cards will apply for one at your local branch during #NationalLibraryWeek. Then let me know about it. 😇
This image is a poster titled "What is a public library?" followed by translations in several languages. It illustrates various activities and uses of a public library, such as reading, using reference materials, and attending events. The phrase "Who is it for?" is accompanied by translations and a drawing of a diverse group of people highlighted with text saying, "for everyone," in multiple languages.
We're kicking off #NationalLibraryWeek with a special selection from the archives! This offset lithograph poster illustrates a few of the many resources and programs that a public library offers its community. It emphasizes that these resources are free and for everyone in multiple languages.
It’s National Library Week, so support your fucking libraries people. Use them, fight for their funding, fight for your librarians. Don’t let your most reliable third space go to waste.
That was seriously weird.
a poster with a drawing of a person wearing a dress and another wearing pants under a sign that reads "your future" it's an ad for the Uof T library school, the caption reads "you like people you like books be a librarian"

Every high school and college graduate should be required to read this and think: where do I stand? Where do I want to put my human energy?
Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.
We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

Palantir is a quasi-fundamentalist subversive right-wing movement with a stock symbol
For the first time in decades, consensus broke at the UN Commission on the Status of Women. The United States cast the lone “no” vote on a document aimed at improving justice systems for women and girls worldwide. Misogyny is the official policy of the US under Trump.
I think it would be an amazing graduation gift 🐦
I so love that book and it changed my brain a bit, I think. I read it during the height of the pandemic and it... helped!
Two seniors in high school looking out over a beautiful rose garden, that was built as part of the works progress administration during the new deal. We could have beautiful things if we had the political will.
My son's prom night is tonight, and we took him to the place where tons of local kids take pre-prom pictures - our city's rose garden.
I had just taught about this very garden during a unit on the New Deal because it was a WPA project.
We absolutely could have beautiful things, like rose gardens.
You know, in hindsight, I wish we hadn’t elected John Roberts as dictator for life. But that’s democracy for you, whaddayagonnado?
Pack the court
Whew.
I would very much like you to get started but shall honor your wishes, of course
