That was an amazingly measured response…

Thank you to you and all your staff and volunteers for your work and dedication. And—patience in the face of those who don’t understand. There’d better be a special sainthood badge for all of you!

And maybe the student sat through a class where poetry was taught in a way that left too little room for students to find their own way in, to feel into words, rather than focus on terminology? (I can’t know if that was the case, but their resentment towards iambic pentameter made me wonder…)

Oh, wow, thanks @literaryhub.bsky.social for giving space to my Oma Lotte’s big dream to become a writer and to the kindness of a young tailor who fed and held her dream.

Let’s all nourish and defend a world where girls’ and women’s voices can ring loud and clear and free.

Cover Picture of the Movie Departures bei Yojiro Takita

“Departures” by Yojiro Takita. I guess I’m trying to figure out how to live with so much loss every day. So I needed to be reassured that there is beauty in a bleak time and that kindness is what matters and persists.

There are times when you have to read Pratchett to maintain your sanity in an insane world. Others I keep thinking of right now are “The Truth” and “Nightwatch” .
