Work from home was around before Covid, but it was like "work 1 or 2 days at home, come into the office otherwise." Covid made it a "work from home forever" thing and it was never advertised as that. Personally, I like work from home, my company is entirely remote, but I get why others don't

I'm not saying I agree with it. I don't. But that is what they are doing. They're saying "either come in to the office, or quit".

I don't know if asking people to return to the office is moving backwards or forward, that is a matter of opinion. Work from home became a thing due to Covid, it was never intended to be forever. I personally prefer it and run my business that way, but others don't have to agree with me there.

There will be no choice but to enact UBI if technological progress continues at this path. It will be that, or a collapse of living standards, and violence - and no leader who wishes to stay in power will want that. You just lack imagination and have no argument, so you resort to throwing insults.
