The sssssshapesssssss! Looks so cool!

The spotted milestone of a digitigrade bodysuit is officially COMPLETE! The fit checks went even better than I expected. The extention pieces to the leg cuffs make the zipper attached feet so seamless, the front side appliqué method abolished any need for hand sewing.

FINALLY!

Bodysuit is complete!

Phew! Just the test fit to go, then final checks and additions then it's head sculpting time, my favourite part!

Awh that's so sweet! Honestly my daughter is the best thing that's ever happened to me. There's a balance and it takes a while to find and more things might change but if I can do this juggle, you absolutely can! Thank you for your support ❤️

Essentially, yes!

You can do gussets during the patterning stage absolutely! You would need to be accurate though so you don't make it too big or wide then it would look a bit off. I find it easier to do after the bodysuit is almost done and check on the DTD to get the right dimensions for it

Super happy with these, I made an extra effort for the extended cuffs for these feetpaws - now they just need sewn to the bodysuit!

Feetpaws are built from a modified @spiltgrapesoda.bsky.social slim digitigrade pattern

TAIL HOLE!

Now that I've got your attention, check out this clean tail sleeve with zipper attachment! When I've been working on zipper tails, I've been finding that having the zipper attached to the seam makes it a bit too fiddly to attach so I decided to make a extension with a fleece strip.

Apologises for the strobing. I've got fluorescent lights in my studio and it really flashes when I'm showing any light fur colours

Still going strong on this commission and I'm really taking the time to make sure these seams are near invisible fur side!

It takes a lot of preparation for this effect. Time is a huge facet that I believe some people don't factor in when thinking about pricing for fursuits.

Awh cheers! It's still a lot of work but its so so worth it. Think this is it for marking installation for me for future suits for sure! You'll make it look so clean, your skills are mad impressive!

Did you know this section is actually THREE pieces of fur sewn together?! The magic of seam shaving in effect!

Only took me about five minutes (if that!) of brushing to gain that effect, then I did my front stitch appliqué to add more markings that were across the three different sections.

Neat panels of this lovely ivory beaver fur is ready to get sewn now that the edges are shaved down.

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been very busy with mum duties the past few days. Assembly starts tomorrow! Excited!

I accidentally got some washable marker on the fur pile during patterning. Easy fix, just warm water spritz, brush and dry, and you wouldn't even know!

SHAVE YOUR SEAMS!?

I do this to greatly reduce the bulk of fur in my seams, which means it takes half the time to comb out the fur from inside the seam and on the outside of the fur.

Totally optional, it still takes time but so does all that brushing am I right?

I AM SO PLEASED!

The front stitch appliqué method has been such a success & I'm thrilled with the results.

Only 20 or so spots to go, I managed to sew about 185 in 5-6 working days! (reminder that I only work part time because I'm full-time Mum!)

One of my favourite things to do is detailing fursuits.

Trimming markings, adding clean bias finishing and ladder stitching on claws for that nice round base with claws that don't move.
