Interesting question, I see Gudas every year , never really thought much of how well he plays d. He got 9 minutes last night. Surprises me a bit.

I remember talk of how important getting Carrier was. They wanted clean , decisive ,execution, and he brought that. Reads are the calling card of how this team wants to play as far as I can see. When AX over thinks that part of his game, his core value suffers. Is that the staff’s fault ?
I would also think Robidas has a lot more to say about gap control, reading your partner and communicating on ice deep in your end.
I think they love AX, I doubt they’d of drafted his brother if they weren’t fans of the family. Basu spoke well of it last week. They know that they lack what he brings at his best but he has to marry that with the team’s d game. He’s getting there. How many d men figure it out late ? Lots
Him playing 10 minutes doesn’t mean they don’t trust him, it means they trust others more.
From all we’ve seen of Gally, do you think he’d allow himself to be patronized ? I don’t.
They thought they won
Hmm. Thinking of pressing record. Big day tomorrow. Fuck it, I have no plans.
I was waiting for him to say that the challenge was a gamble.
You’re jacket’s a better fit.
I have his 69 opening day ticket as well.
That one and the one on the 20 at Ile Perot are the oldest I can think of.
Had an Uncle who lived on Querbes St. Had season tickets to Jarry in 69&70. He’d get over there every game wearing his Expos windbreaker. I’ve got it in my closet. I couldn’t put it on. Equivalent of a S size today.
Wow. Must’ve gone up nearly 70 years ago
Wonder if his Dairy Queen is still there ?
Heard him on radio years ago. The year he won the Art Ross , his line was all in the top 5 and he broke his wrist late in the year. They said he could play with it but he didn’t want 9/16 thinking he just wanted to win a trophy. They told him not to be ridiculous and play . He won it.
That’s what I remember my Dad saying as well. Today it’d be called his compete level.
2 hockey players whose names became their products. Order me 2 Dickie Moore’s for the site and get me a Tim’s.
It’s interesting how the combos evolved with retirements trades etc. I heard Beliveau say that in the 60’s he went to Blake and asked for all the young wingers. He’d break them in.
Sorry, misread, I thought you meant The Rocket played with Beliveau. I think C’s loved playing with Moore because he was a beast in the corners and loose pucks.
From 55-60, it was mainly Moore and Henri. It was Elmer Lach until his last year 53-54. Beliveau was usually with Geoffrion on rw. The only gap year was 54-55. Now Beliveau/Richard combined on a jillion goals on the pp I’m sure.
So 54-55, the year he played without Lach, and before Little brother, the year he would’ve won the Art Ross, his C appears to have been Ken Mosdell. That’s really surprising.
You’ve got me curious. The Rocket played with Lach, then his brother. Lines interest me historically. Was there a year in between? Off to hockey db.
Definitely.
Yeah. Just what I’d like to see. I don’t think there’s a bad guy here. Seems to be mutual respect , so it plays out however it plays out.
I doubt Gally wants a lame duck, fake an injury year, he might finish up elsewhere as much as I’d hate to see it. Or he can surprise everyone, and repeat last year.
Ok. It’s been covered. I think they’ll see where a bunch of guys are after next season and decide. My guy is he’s heading into his last year here.
You mean after next year ? Don’t he and Gally each have a year left ?
Kidding. I wouldn’t know how to do a group chat.
Or welcome in my group chat.
