I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

Latest in @theatlantic.com The Ukrainians are now longer pretending that Donald Trump's USA is their friend. Their honesty is important as they seem to understand how much Trump is helping Putin and how important it is that Europe stick together. Gift Link. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Typical Pope with his "holier than thou" attitude.
Disgusting reporting by BBC using a tiny number of cases to suggest widespread abuse of a system which routinely denies LGBTQIA+ individuals asylum and forces them back into environments of persecution. This article massively distorts the reality of the situation. 1/

I can't quite express the joy of seeing Viktor Orbán, the man who took my grandparents' native land to the brink of dictatorship, concede power after 16 years of autocracy and corruption. This is personal.
1/ A Russian politician's advice to fellow citizens to carry paper maps because they can no longer rely on online navigation due to Internet blocking has gone down badly in Russia. A Moscow science institute has advised Russians to navigate by the sun and stars instead. ⬇️

These strikes would be war crimes on a massive scale and any military personnel who carried them out would be subjecting themselves to possible prosecution. Of course Trump is approximately as concerned about those military personnel as he is about Iranian civilians. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/06/u...
A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!
Trump just openly stating his intention to commit genocide at this point: "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again."

Last year, while the billionaire class became much richer as the working class struggled to survive, Trump gave a $1 trillion tax break to the 1% and paid for it by throwing 15 million Americans off the health care they desperately need. This year, while Trump and Netanyahu started a war in Iran, the president wants to increase military spending by $500 billion and pay for that war by reducing funding for childcare, health care, affordable housing and other domestic needs. This is what Trump’s agenda is all about: making himself and his fellow Oligarchs even richer, while decimating programs that working families, the elderly and the children rely on. That is an obscene set of priorities. Congress must reject this proposal and pass a budget that works for all of us, not just the 1%.
Trump’s obscene budget.

This is HUGE mistake. I would understand continuing with the visit, despite humiliating circumstances, if it had any genuine chance of restoring transatlantic relations. But it won’t. Trump will bask in the spotlight, and go back to slagging off the UK one day later. www.nbcnews.com/world/united...
