Thank you, pleased you found it to be like that. & I entirely get that - it's such a tricky one for so many.

A very sound opinion & I get that. I also entirely see why some fans think/believe that someone else could be getting more out of the team & want to see something different. It's an extremely tricky one because Howe has been so brilliant for Newcastle.

1 day ago 3 0 2 0

It isn't necessarily a fair comparison, no, but the point still stands about fans being told how they should/shouldn't individually feel.

1 day ago 4 0 1 0

Yes, they were. A lot of pundits comment about clubs they don't watch all the time. Every fan is entitled to their own opinion on what they want from their team/head coach when they watch them all the time.

Well yes & no, the CCO position isn't being replaced. But other positions are being created.

I can't remember which article specifically I mentioned it in, but it's 70% in Europe & 85% if they don't (although theoretically the PL rules are more lax & it could be extended to that sort of level, but you'd have to pay a luxury tax essentially).

He was the only player who was put forward. Whether he was the only player who chose to, I am unsure. Sometimes they are not asked.

2 days ago 1 0 0 0

The hierarchy. Howe was on board with it, though ideally he would have liked to sign someone but didn't think of the options they could afford that they would massively improve upon what they had & may negatively affect future spending.

3 days ago 2 0 1 0

It is a very fair question, or at least a point of mitigation.

3 days ago 1 0 0 0

Club didn't feel there was the value there & that they were better to wait until the summer. But could definitely have done with some fresh legs, in hindsight.

3 days ago 2 0 1 0

Unfortunately a fair amount of truth in that.

3 days ago 2 0 0 0

Yes really. He was put to them for a while but they basically explored every alternative before signing him. They wanted Strand Larsen just days before eventually accepting Wissa was the only player they could get.

3 days ago 1 0 0 0

Wissa was not planned. Elanga was.

I don't think it is just one bad summer. Before that they didn't refresh the squad for five windows. This is a long-term issue, exacerbated massively by last summer.

3 days ago 16 1 6 3

Largely panic/lack of alternatives by that stage. The idea was that Newcastle decided they needed to evolve the way they played, but it simply hasn't happened like that.

It does feel like an ending at the moment, unfortunately.

Full-time: #NUFC 1-2 #AFCB

Another abject defeat, a 5th in 6 in PL at home, 8th in 11 in general in PL.

Howe's team improved a bit when Guimaraes came on & equalised, but created little-to-nothing. They look short of ideas & borderline lifeless ATM.

Boos at full-time.

#NUFC 1-2 #AFCB

Tavernier crosses from the left, Evanilson knocks it down, then Truffert finishes into the roof of the net.

Woeful defending again from Newcastle. Second to everything.
