I am going to Avignon in May. The return was £112 for Eurostar and €68 for Ferrecarossa. Trick is to travel midweek and book as early as you can.

The right to protest is a cornerstone of our democracy. It's how people make their voices heard, hold the government to account, and advocate for change.

Without it, we wouldn't have lots of the freedoms we take for granted today.

Petition: Nationalise water companies to make water a non profit publicly owned asset To make water a non profit making national asset that ensures we have a secure water infrastructure that ensures our water security for future generations.

Sign this. Anything that's too important to fail, can't be run for profit - it encourages rackless practice, and lowers safety standards. #DirtyBusiness

I have voted Labour at every GE since 1979. The Labour Party no longer exists: I cannot vote for "Blue" Labour, I must be one of those bourgeois voters they are "prepared" to sacrifice. Sorry (not sorry) if I am too lefty for them. (PS there are many, many of us).

You are a good man Simon, but as a constituent I am unable to vote for you at the next election because of your affiliation to this "Labour" party. As long as folk like Streeting and Starmer "lead", they (and you) are doomed. I have voted Labour at every GE since 1979. I cannot continue to do so.

Until such time as they actively kill the concept of "Blue Labour" this life long Labour (socialist) voter will place his X elsewhere. I have voted Labour in every single GE since 1979.

I've said it many times before and will keep repeating it, the main issue in the UK is our corrupt billionaire media owners, until we fix them, nothing will change.

Awake Arise band members performing at St Georges Bristol on 17/12/24

A fabulous evening of mid winter delight at St Georges Bristol where Lady Maisery and Jimmy and Sid performed Awake Arise. Heartwarming good in these dark times.

This is going to piss a lot of men off, but ignore them, too!

I remember during the Brexit referendum that leading Brexiteers *insisted* that they were not isolationists and little Englanders.

They *were* team players, but it was just the EU was wrong.

But then they wanted out of Single Market… then ECHR…

…and now UN and ICC too.

They are not team players.

I have spent a little while checking my feed here. I haven't felt the need to block a single post. Unlike the other place. A breath of much needed fresh air.

@squeezyjohn.bsky.social Greetings John. I have protected my tweets in the other place so can't reply to you there. I think removing the block is the last straw for me there.

The longer they keep their Rwanda pantomime running the more it drowns out the obvious: cost of living; NHS winter crisis; child poverty; economic failures; sewage in the seas; failure after failure after 13 years … so they do the Politics of Distraction… it’s their only success

Ah, I get it....I was thinking more along the lines of a genuine artist setting up a bot farm to "play" their own music and thus generate income.

Maybe you could explain how that would work? It would cost more in electricity (never mind the hardware) than you would actually make.......

2/2 It is difficult to reach any other conclusion for such an inhuman policy. The simple solution would have been to allow a vote of conscience. But the stubborn insistence is deeply worrying.

I am struggling to understand the Labour position on Gaza. I do not believe Starmer is stupid, but there must be a reason he enforced the whip. Has he been got at by somebody/something? 1/2

Last evening went to see Kenneth Branagh "giving" his Lear. Sadly he was too young, his supporting cast too dull, and the delivery too monotone to do little other than pass time. Shame, really. Set was good though. 2 stars only.
