Those who can afford good food in the US are seeking it out but most can't, especially now under Trump. In Europe good food is readily available and mostly affordable because they have policies to protect the quality of their food and small high street shops like bakeries.

But then Wholefoods is regularly in trouble with the shitty quality of its food and its exorbitant prices.

Even poor people in Europeans eat nice bread daily because it remains affordable because European countries tend to protect their small businesses from US capitalism, unlike the US and the UK. this is not, i repeat, not, dunking on poor people. Americans need to stop attacking British food.
