One of my pitches for kaiju for my abortive collaboration on Dark Horse's GODZILLA comic book back in the 1980s. I revamped this for my own uses later on.

I adore "Harley's Holiday" so much. It's got great writing, great direction, and it really pushes the title character off on her own. Harley Quinn began Batman: The Animated Series as the Joker's new gun moll and she left it as a full-fledged superstar.
I think Robocop's Clarence Boddicker might be my favorite movie villain of all time? I don't know of another one that turns the venn diagram of "I hate this guy" and "I love watching this guy" into a complete circle quite like him.
If you thought I did too many of them before, WELL...
Got a little over four months until I AM THE NIGHT comes out, so if an escalating number of threads about Batman: The Animated Series and other cartoons isn't your thing, consider this post your exit ramp.
It was so tough. A lot of good things came out it - I got to spend a lot of time with my young son, I wrote my first book, I got back into exercise, etc. But I deeply missed my friends and family and the specific energy they bring to my life when I'm around them. I feel emptier without it.
I can't either.
Because it's a GREAT movie. Three extra stars for this little dude and his creepy laugh alone.
Which ones?!
I'd get super pumped for this in 2004
"Picked it up at a 4 for $20 DVD sale at Hollywood Video" is one of my favorite horror subgenres
I have for a few years now. It's become one of my favorite outlets.
Thanks, brother!
Great way to put it.
Even though BTAS is over (Yes, the DCAU continues, but it's still a very special thing), you get the sense that this is the beginning of a new thing for Harley. If anybody is gonna escape this eternal Gotham cycle, it might be her! She might "rebuild her life."
Yes! Everyone expects her to fail and they treat her as such.
But instead of the end of, say, "Birds of a Feather," in which Penguin returns to crime because he's bitter about being betrayed by the "high society" he's so obsessed with being a part of, "Harley's Holiday" ends on this very sweet, optimistic note.
"Harley's Holiday" does a great job of filtering this recurring BTAS theme (A villain wants to "go straight" and we're left wondering about their sincerity/the ability of a judgmental world to allow it) through a caper. It turns into kind of a road comedy at times.
Agreed!
(He also spoke really thoughtfully about what it means to be in a bad relationship and to get out and to have to rebuild your life. I was glad to be able to put some of that in the book: www.amazon.com/dp/125040965...)
One thing that's interesting is that, as production on BTAS progressed, Paul Dini started to feel bad for her. He kept wanting her to go do her own thing. I asked him about that during our interviews, and he regards the Joker/Harley thing as unmistakably an element of her past.
And while she'd be paired with the Joker in later episodes, he doesn't show up here. It's all Harley. And her energy is very distinct without him - she's funny and she's got a distinct sense of empathy for other people. She really thrives.

I think this is Coppola's final masterpiece. And, after The Conversation, it might be my 2nd favorite film of his.
I love Bram Stoker's Dracula. I've seen people accuse it of being "style over substance," but the whole film is about love cascading over the ages like a river of blood. Why not be emotionally charged to the brim? Why not be luscious in form? Its the treatment this particular film deserves.
That's great! You're gonna look fantastic no matter your waistline. The most important thing is feeling good and confident about your workouts.
One thing that has changed about my workouts is that, for a while, I was very focused on size, but that requires not only a lot of eating, but a lot of very specific eating. And I just enjoy tacos and tequila too much for that. So I'm sticking to diligent heavy lifting, cardio, and stretching.
Impressing the gym with my bicep curls AND my impromptu magic shows
I don't share a lot of workout pics anymore because I'm 37 and no one cares, but I'm glad to still have heavy weights in my life
Proud of you! I also saw 3.
"What have you heard, Shane?"
