Oh wild. They have a station here on campus in the dining hall, and I hit it up every once in a while. Last week there was just randomly no one there and they haven't listed any open hours since. I guess this explains it.

Liverpool: Freddie Woodman on life as Reds' third-choice goalkeeper Liverpool's Freddie Woodman on the

He may be Liverpool's third-choice goalkeeper but he's a zen master with the sort of perspective on life that many would use up a year of therapy sessions and still fail to acquire. We should all be a bit more Freddie Woodman. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

Alice is indeed a total legend! Honored to have her collection at the SFC. Full of great stuff.

Really one of our foundational collections here, and still growing.

This happened just before I joined the SFC, but my boss and predecessor were called by Highlander right after this to salvage and safely hold the A/V materials held by the Center. So those are now available here at UNC. What an invaluable resource.

Alleged white supremacist pleads guilty in fire at social justice center that trained civil rights icons The Highlander Research and Education Center hosted figures like Rosa Parks, John Lewis and Martin Luther King Jr. Regan Prater set it ablaze in 2019, according to prosecutors.

A man linked to white supremacist movements pleaded guilty to burning the historic Highlander Center, where Rosa Parks attended a workshop on integration before her 1955 bus protest. In March 2019, the blaze destroyed decades of irreplaceable civil rights archives, artifacts, and history.

Doom & Gloom From The Tomb Television - The Theatre of Living Arts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, December 2, 1992 We dealt with some vintage 1976 Television situations last week. So how about some slightly less vintage...

All hail @scottythered.bsky.social for his sonic wizardry on this Television tape — it can now be counted among the very best recordings of the band from the early 1990s.

Starting July 1 there will be new limits on student loans for MLS students under the limited understanding of what fits as a "professional" degree.

This limit is going to further restrict access to the field.

I haven't seen anywhere near enough discussion of this (truthfully, none) by pro orgs. 📚

I just queued this up on Youtube first thing after seeing this, and "Facing All the Same Tomorrows" already floored me. Perfectly fits my feeling this morning, fortunately/unfortunately, so will be keeping this close by when I'm in my sad North Carolinian mood (often).

Vernon Wray - Wasted

Let’s go party people! Sad banger classic by the elder Wray brother, which inexplicably only came out as a private pressing, sold after gigs, despite Link being on Polydor at the time. Been hoping this would get a widely available reissue for ages

New "What's In My Bag?" episode with Tortoise!

Douglas McCombs & John Herndon go shopping at Amanda SF. From Tom Verlaine, David Thomas of Pere Ubu & Broadcast, it may seem like they only pick albums by dead musicians. But never fear, there are some living artists too!

Star Trek The Next Generation scene. Young ensign Wesley Crusher (the boy) sits at a console on the bridge, but he's turned around like he's having a talk with safe and trustworthy adult who has walked up behind him. He looks sincere and earnest, as if it's a 'very special episode of Star Trek.' He's wearing his blue and blue and gold and red and blue again Wesley sweater, which is not a bad look, tbh. Closed caption reads, "drugs can make you feel good."
