This is such a wild perspective, and an example of how progressives and liberals are just as prone to individualism as conservatives. Maybe more so.
We do not just need affluence. Community is at the core of the human experience. Communities of meaning even more so. Meaning within is not enough.

These are the people who gave us Trump. Their constituents who spent a full year BEGGING them to stop partnering with a MAGA terrorist are not the people who gave us Trump.
Two of my favorite places I’ve visited in recent years have been Belfast and Medellín. Two places that, in the United States, you pretty much only hear terrible things about. War and violence.
But I felt completely at home in both. And desperately want to go back to both.
