Nice to hear from you, Kinga! I had a feeling I was missing someone - I did see you asking questions, one more fellow Oxford alumni 🎓

Sad I couldn’t be there in person, but I really enjoyed listening to all the talks! What a great meeting with a unique focus on integrating single-molecule sequencing and imaging techniques. Excited to see how the field evolves!

Happy to share this paper! We uncovered that good 5' splice sites protect against ZC3H4/Restrictor's promiscuous role, and that its role is to suppress elongation and indirectly cause termination. Looking forward to learning more about this protein in the future!

Thrilled to see my postdoc work at Adelman Lab @hms-bcmp.bsky.social on Integrator(INT) now out @cp-cell.bsky.social. We found that INT deficiency allows immature+unlicensed RNAPII to precociously enter genes. This immature RNAPII can transcribe short genes but terminates prematurely in long genes:

Our latest work now online in Cell:

Rewriting regulatory DNA to dissect and reprogram gene expression

Our new method (Variant-EFFECTS) uses high-throughput prime editing + flow sorting + sequencing to precisely measure effects of noncoding variants on gene expression

The importance of moving away from bulk! Occupancy of Pol II at promoters is dramatically different between fly and mouse cells! When looking single molecule! Proud of the team! @kasitc.bsky.social @molinalab.bsky.social doi.org/10.1038/s443...

Behind the paper: “Temporal variability and cell mechanics control robustness in mammalian embryogenesis” - the Node The massive presence of disorder and variability challenges the traditional metaphor of the developmental process as a perfectly executed program leading

Could stochasticity play a role in ensuring robustness during development?
