When someone tells you all of their problems while eating Chinese food that’s called trauma dumpling.

Fellow voice talent Roland Wiley lost his home in the fires spreading throughout Los Angeles. He and his mother escaped with only the clothing on their backs. If you can, please donate to help them get back on their feet.
So shocked to have won this year’s CBS Audition Spotlight at the SOVAS That’s Voiceover Expo. Being amongst the sheer talent that was in this contest is an incredible privilege. Thank you SOVAS, CBS, the judges,Vanessa & RSA, Beata Pozniak, everyone! ♥️

I’m comin for ya That’s Voiceover Expo and Voice Arts Awards!
Things I’ve heard as a disabled voice actor: “I mean, it’s a little unfair you get to record from home, don’t you think?” “No excuses! Being disabled isn’t an excuse not to work hard” “Well, most people aren’t disabled….” “It’s a red flag you don’t live in a hub, it means you don’t take voice acting seriously.” “You’re so lucky you’re disabled, that must get you a lot of jobs” “I don’t think accommodations are really my problem” “It’s not fair that….” “I mean, sure people like you should get accommodations but..what about everyone else?” “She got this role because she’s disabled” “They’re just checking off a box”
I love voiceover & I am so grateful to be a part of our industry.
But unfortunately, a big part of it that needs to change is the ableism that has made its way into it.
These are all things that were said to me as a disabled talent.
I could’ve filled pages with these.
We need to change.
If my life were a movie, it would have a dramatic, explosive opening sequence, followed by 2 hours of a monkey playing with his belly button.
Having a toddler has meant I’ve been forced to watch every Toy Story film fifty times. It’s also made me realize that absolutely every bad thing that happens in those movies is always 100% Woody’s fault. Every single conflict the characters face is a direct result of Woody being on some bullshit.
I think my fear of flying started when I was a baby when my mom would feed me going “Here comes the airplane!” and poked me right in the eye with the spoon.
We’re looking for something similar to Sam Elliot, but not too old or southern.

Paul Eiding appreciation post:
There is no secret or shortcut to success. Just hard work, time, and sometimes a bit of luck.
The more punches you throw, the more you’re likely to land.
Keep going.
This party sucks. Everyone’s all quiet and dressed in black and there’s some guy asleep in a box in the front of the room. Hey wake up fella! Other people wanna use the nap box!
THANK YOUUUUUU
Well that’s certainly one way to close out the weekend 🤯.
So very proud to share that out of over 1000 entries, I’ve been selected in the Top 40 for the CBS Audition Spotlight at the Sovas TVO Expo! So honored to be named among these amazing voices. Next round is in-person in LA next month 🤞🏻.
My cat says “meow” but what I think she means is “Go ahead and eat that entire box of ice cream sandwiches, you’ve earned it.”
Something I wish someone told me early in my voiceover journey:
You don’t NEED to sound any particular way. Embrace what makes your voice YOU. I tried so hard to “correct” my voice early on and that made work harder and left me feeling more like an imposter. Master your natural voice first.
I'm not a sugar daddy. I'm more of a Splenda daddy.
See you in August! #MGSCon
I bet the worst part about killing a zombie is that before they became a zombie they probably knew some good lemon bar recipes, but now they can’t tell you.
