3. Genre-specific characters let's you really play the character you imagined super fast!
By having genre-specific character options, you get to build a character you imagine yourself being REALLY FAST. Everything makes sense and you don't have to fiddle with stuff to "fit" your vision.
A group of fighters, some using psionics, one wielding hammers, one riding atop a feline-type creature with stripes and multiple tails, facing down a colossal red creature that looks down upon them. Fire surrounds the face-off, and the earth beneath the heroes is crumbling.
2. You can spend Pool points to 0 (without penalties) & redline your characters!
This is extra fun when you're playing in a superhero or other extraordinarily powered genre! It always feels super dramatic and you can really push your characters without reservation.
On a cyberpunk city street, the scene depicts a face-off between two people shooting at each other. One is sliding dramatically towards the feet of the other while shooting them with their laser gun into their enemy's chest. The standing fighter is shooting his laser gun, but has missed his target as they have dodged by taking their down, sliding position.
1. You choose how you deal with most attacks: dodge them or block them!
Blocking allows you to use your armor to offset the damage; if the attack's damage does not exceed your armor, you can soak the attack and don't even need to roll.
OR you can dodge, and try to avoid *all* damage altogether.

Me, after I played a couple of new Cypher oneshots with my @montecookgames.com peeps last week as armored, tanky PCs.
New rules mean I can block (mitigating damage) or dodge (to avoid all damage—but I'm severely hindered from my armor). Love the rules change and having that (tough) choice!

An open note to Cineplex:
Yes the movie is called Demon Slayer, and it is animated, but this is probably not the right audience to show the promo preview of the upcoming animated biblical story of Jesus's life.
I mean, sure Jesus might be a demon slayer of sorts, but they're very different movies.
This is your annual Gen Con reminder that:
1. You shouldn't ask anyone to bring you anything back from the con unless you're willing to move a body for that person.
AND
2. You're free to say no if anyone asks you to get stuff for them unless they've already moved a body for you.
I think this is probably the most appropriate first post on this platform, and it takes away any awkwardness of having to introduce myself. :)
