Sen. Jeff Merkeley, Tom Steyer and yours truly at Netroots Conference in St. Louis in 2016 - before appearing together on a panel.

Screenshot of my FB post dated, July 16, 2016:

"On my way back home towards the Pacific Ocean after 3 wonderful days at #NN16 in St. Louis (pretty cool city). In many ways this was one of my favorite Netroots conference. I have been to 8 of them and this felt cozier, warmer and much tighter than few of the huge ones from earlier years. BTW as usual it was a well attended conference.

I liked that fact that this conference wasn’t flooded by all kinds of Democratic electeds, candidates, their handlers, consultants, who sometimes show up for the sake of pandering to a specific constituency. The folks who showed up this time likee progressive champions Sen. Jeff Merkley or climate justice fighters such as Tom Steyer - showed up because they wanted to be here and get in the trenches with the progressive core of the party.

I had a great time (and learned a lot) by participating in a panel with these two gentlemen in our “Keep it in the ground” panel and also shared our perspective on Left Flank advocacy in climate justice.

More importantly it was so great to see so many old friends from all over the place. I am tired, exhausted, and anxious to get home to see the girls. But I am also fired up and get back to work and plot, scheme, collaborate together with so many dear friends I get to fight on the same side with every day - virtually. We all came together IRL at a time we really needed it. Onward.

PS: Thank you to Sen. Merkley’s team for this photo"

A photo/post from 10 yrs ago reflecting on another great @netrootsnation.bsky.social. As I noted in that post - I appreciated Tom Steyer & @jeff-merkley.bsky.social showing up in the trenches to organize around climate justice. Come to #NN26 in Philly. Should be fun.

PS: #TeamSteyer get on bluesky

Not one person who will be losing their health care will give one shit about a the existence of a vote.

People care about outcomes, not process.

The focus on demolishing the Rose Garden and the East Wing of the White House *may* have been a mistake.

Abigail Spanberger, Mikie Sherrill, Zohran Mamdani all ran on making homes more affordable.

Pittsburgh, Durham, Charlotte Mayoral races too.

Addressing the housing shortage is key to electoral success.

The Biggest Myth About the YIMBY Movement There’s nothing centrist or conservative about the push to lower housing costs.

YIMBY is progressive, populist and antitrust. Not centrist. Not Reaganite.

This is an excellent article that extensively and approvingly quotes former WA Governor Jay Inslee - who won three consecutive elections as governor, a feat no other WA Dem has achieved. People ought to listen to him!

We are all better off that my former boss @jeff-merkley.bsky.social is running to serve another term in the United States Senate. A champion for working people, our environment, and our democracy.

‘Polar Payoff’ in GOP health care bill would give Alaska a sweet deal Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and other lawmakers head to the Senate on July 13 for a meeting on the revised Republican health care bill, which has been under attack from within the party, including ...

“Think about it: If you had subsidy changes that only affect Alaska, but don’t do anything with regards to the impact of Medicaid cuts, I don’t see how that can help the balance here.” - Lisa Murkowski in JULY 2017 www.yahoo.com/news/polar-p...

Talking about process a great way not to piss anyone off at caucus lunch, but it’s not leadership.

The Oklahoma City Thunder stole the Seattle SuperSonics, are owned by fracking magnates, and are forever cursed until Seattle gets their team back. Thems the rules.

It’s important to remember the Oklahoma (city?) Thunder is not a team that should exist and nothing good should ever happen to them.

Leah is exactly right. Every time Trump rips up some environmental protection, he finds
another way to force dirty, expensive energy down our throats, this time keeping obsolete coal plants open nobody wants.
