Honestly one of the best Christmas albums in existence. I even introduced friends to it this year. Seeing them last year at Rebecca Cohn was 👌

I really wish the bus lane was back. Why they can’t just put a bus priority light from Wyse to the bridge is beyond me.
Thanks - I’ll do some digging to find that.
I’ll check the video out - thanks!
The only alternative would be South St for two way. Morris being one way would still negatively affect transit users.
I’d prefer bike and bus (and emergency vehicles) streets only.
@kwilsonhfx.bsky.social @landofsticks.bsky.social I fear that transit being routed to South St will have an adverse effect on transit users; especially in the winter time.
@kwilsonhfx.bsky.social @landofsticks.bsky.social question, I may have missed this discussion; Morris is used freq for transit detours when SG is closed for events/construction/emergencies. Has anyone discussed the effect that this will have on users of all abilities if Morris can’t be used?
Ya know what’s frustrating talking about BRT/bus lanes? It’s all great and wonderful assuming we actually enforce the no parking rules in bus lanes. But we don’t - because businesses. Won’t someone think of the businesses?!
@davidwcochrane.bsky.social I commend you for your daily reporting; but also your pop culture references during Power and Politics. I can’t for the life of me remember the one from yesterday during an interview (thanks weed), but please continue bringing light to the bullshit of the day 👌
I’m also assuming that’s the correct tag; if not, sorry to the random individual I tagged.
I love our @hfxpublib.bsky.social system. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating; a true public service that deserves even more love.
This was a great listen - thank you.
I thought this was a fantastic statement; then caught up on the meeting yesterday and was very thankful you chose to pursue this statement to council directly. Kudos!
Thank you for summarizing that speaker in the most articulate way (I’m an hour behind - can you tell?)
Wait - are we really calling to outsource AAB to the private sector? Transit SHOULD be managed by the city.
And, without proactive and consistent enforcement (I would prefer bus only with accessible parking only for folks who needed it/drop off and pick up for others); bus users would be left stranded or not serviced at all.
Buses to beaches would be great if we removed the parking and enforced the parking. Y’all will be stranded far away from the beaches (or trails) because this city doesn’t prioritize transit accessibility. Every year there’s pleading for people to stop parking on both sides. #halifax #transit
I dream that one day drivers will give me as much space on the road on my bicycle as they do a discarded cardboard box.🙏
Hard no. Absolutely not. Couldn’t even show up to discuss the city budget. Everyone’s entitled to vacation; but expectations should be high for elected officials.
Agreed. I’ll never get over the failed Spring Garden bus pilot. I just want to zap them off the planet for holding up a bus of people because of their selfishness.
People are disregarding the no left turn onto Quinpool. I presume this was done to allow traffic to flow freely NB. Do you know if there are plans for better signage? I was stuck on a bus yesterday because of people making the turn against the signage 😅
I think we’ll all find out together 😅 a diagram would have been helpful
Like; the conflict of NB traffic proceeding NB having to navigate the median and traffic heading SB turning left to Bell is a concern.
This is the part of the PSA that confuses me; “Two lanes of northbound traffic will be closed” with no left turns onto Quinpool.
Hey #halifax, reminder that starting Tuesday, Robie Street (NB) is closed to all traffic. So prepare to blame transit and everyone else except yourselves for the traffic you create. Fuck the bus users, amirite?
This was a great article and hit all of the right points; akin to me talking to a brick wall to anyone who complains about driving in Halifax traffic. It’s disappointing when time and time again, we’re told that bus users (and other folks who bike/walk/roll) are not actually a priority.
I will say, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to Max talk in a different capacity at the CUTA conference - very moving. He linked transit to saving lives of our unhoused folks. I wish council would put more emphasis on that.
Thank you kindly! Appreciate your efforts.
@landofsticks.thecoast.ca @halifaxexaminer.ca asking the local news people to find out why, per Becky Kent’s statement, newly elected Mayor Fillmore has decided to NOT show up to council for budget debates. Is this normal?
How I’m getting to my car today;
